Fine for an Airport - Edit
The food is clearly labeled but the quality is subpar. Dumplings were hard from sitting out so long, the focus on healthy options (aka just brown rice) makes flavors taste a bit off. It was fine but if you have the time I'd find another option in the airport.

Airport option - Edit
We tried the avocado rolls, teriyaki balls with rice, dumplings, greens, and noodles in miso broth. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The teriyaki balls were dry and lacked flavor, while the dumplings had fallen apart in the miso broth, likely because they had been sitting too long. The avocado rolls were bland, reinforcing why I usually avoid sushi.
Read moreWhile this place offers several options, making it a convenient choice at the airport, the food felt generic and uninspired, much like any chain restaurant. It's hard to imagine an independent restaurant serving noodles in just miso broth without any additional flavor. Overall, the experience was underwhelming.

Itsu - Edit
While I only purchased a drink today, I can 100% recommend Itsu for healthy vegan options. My favorite is the detox soup, I always order this. I love how this location is beautifully decorated. 💕

Yummy sushi - Edit
Their vegan sushi (they offer like two veggie sushi boxes that are vegan) was really really good. Didn’t expect that from take away at the airport! They also have vegan gyoza and a vegan soup. Not pricy either!

Itsu nice to eat oriental food in T5 - Edit
The queues for most food outlets was quite long but true the sprite of Itsu, the food came really quickly without any compromise on content or flavour
Read moreAs a vegan there is enough choice because there’s a meat, veggie and vegan version of each dish.
Although space was limited, I managed to find a perch and tucked into my food.
I chose the ‘Veggie Gyoza Noodle Bowl’ which is a vegan option. The noodle bowl was crammed full of big fat juicy noodles, veggies and seeds with plenty of large dumplings. Wether you preference is to eat with chopsticks, fork, spoon or Itay’s Spork, it’s always best to slurp the delicious, rich broth straight from the bowl when the food has been eaten. It left a lovely lingering flavour in my mouth which I can still taste and hour later as sit on the aircraft typing this up.
I also had the ‘Jasmine Tea’ which liked but for those that don’t like a strong floral flavour, avoid it as it’s strong. For those that do, it’s worth it.
Pros: Vegan option for each dish, Queues are not as bad as other places in T5, Staple broth is very good
Cons: Can get busy, Limited seating

Nice option at the airport - Edit
We stopped here for a layover and decided to have some sushi. There aren't very many options but there are a few (there might be more hot dishes). We had a mixed box of avocado makis other rolls with ginger, carrot and green bean filling (only buy if you like the pickled ginger you get at sushi restaurants) and gyoza, another pack of just gyoza, edamame beans and a miso soup. The soup was delicious and the avocado makis were great too. My partner loved the other rolls too (he loves the ginger), but the gyoza had gotten very hard at the edges and weren't very tasty. We'd still go again but simply avoid the gyoza. It would be nice if there was a box with just avocado or cucumber makis, they are usually reliable! Definitely have the miso soup though!!

A few vegan options available - Edit
Not too bad considering you‘re airside at Heathrow. Vegan options are limited but there are a few. I sometimes get the vegan sushi rolls or just edamame beans. Obviously, due to its location it‘s a bit pricey, but I still prefer it over many of the other places in T5.

Airport restaurant with vegan options - Edit
It is definitely not my preferred restaurant, now in an airport, especially after security, you have to take what you get.
Read moreFrom that point of view, the few vegan options they propose, should be a must have in all airport restaurants, now that is not the case.
Therefor this is really a great start, I hope it gains some popularity with these vegan options, will extend it and will inspire other airport restaurants as well.
It is especially Japanese based food.
Pros: Good vegan food for airport, Great initiative
Cons: Not a lot of options

Great airport sushi - Edit
I had a stop over in London flying from Iceland, and sushi was what I was craving: Itsu has a very good choice of vegan options. I had avocado rolls, the veg mix (several veggies in the rolls) and another plate with salad dumplings avocado rolls and veggie rolls. My husband and I shared the three boxes and we were very happy! We paid only 15 pound and filled our hungry bellies! Recommended!

Delicious vegan sushi, and gyozu dumplings! - Edit
Itsu has a great choice of vegan sushi, avocado baby rolls, veggie box and and extra large veggie box with salad. Also green salad with rice and avocado, coconut yoghurt, miso soup with tofu and hot gyozu dumplings with soy mince and spices. Everything is half price half an hour before closing, and with every coffee you get a free banana! Excellent value for money.

Cons: wish the dairy free brownie was also eggless!
