Only gyōzas - Edit
On the 8th floor food court of the mall. The plant-based ramen is in a fish-based broth (dashi), so if that's not your thing the only option is the gyōzas. Those were ok but not stellar.

Amazing ramen - Edit
It's a small menu, but half of it is vegan! It's located on the 8th floor of Lumine, if you don't speak Japanese look for 一風堂 in the building directory. I tried the vegan Shoyu ramen and am obsessed.

Tonkotsu Style - Edit
Nice selection of veganized ippudo classics. We had the Tonkotsu and gyoza and they were great. The „Chashu“ was too soft for my liking. Place is busy but worth a try!

One of my favorites in Japan - Edit
I had the plant based Akamaru and whew was it delicious! It was just the right amount of spicy and really creamy and garlicky. Be prepared for your breath to smell awful. My only complaint is that the “meat” is not really meaty at all and kind of just crumbled and dissolved in the soup. Doesn’t matter, the broth was that good. My meat-eating husband said mine was just as good as his.

Yummy but confusion from staff - Edit
The ramen itself was really tasty. However, the staff was a bit confused about "vegan" and brought me a meat ramen.

Was better the second time I had it! - Edit
First time, it tasted a lot like truffle even though the one I ordered wasn’t supposed to have truffle in it. Second time I had it, I realllllly enjoyed it!! Only vegan ramen I found in Tokyo

Plant based Ramen - Edit
Plant based Ramen is clearly marked by the green leaf. Great broth, but the noodles aren’t the highest quality. Lots of options for vegans and their friends who are not

It was SO good and they have 4 ramen options on the menu, seems like they have new or limited options from time to time. They had gyoza too.

Great ramen and gyoza in Shinjuku! - Edit
8F (8th floor) of the Lumine Est shopping mall, in the corner, next to Kua Aina burgers.
Read moreGot the Shiromaru ramen and 5 gyoza. The ingredients for the ramen were tasty and the broth was mellow. If you’re looking for a rich broth, get a different one -but was yummy! The gyoza were super-tasty and it’s so hard to find vegetarian gyoza in Japan, you may want to come just for those.

Perfect meal to end a travel day - Edit
This place is on the 8th floor of the Lumine EST food court in Shinjuku Station. You might need to walk through all the tables to find it in the back corner like we did. I had to look at the reviews here to finally find this place!
Read moreThe ramen and gyoza were delicious and sooo satisfying after a long travel day. It was also the only place with good vegan ramen that we saw in the area that was open past 7:30 PM. It cost $20 USD for 2 bowls of ramen and 10 gyoza. Pretty awesome.

Tasty ramen - Edit
Really liked the soy milk ramens we got at ippudu. It is on the 8th floor and feels a bit like a hidden gem. I found it to be reasonably priced. My favourite was the spicy ramen, and the gyoza was good also. They have an English menu behind the counter and you are able to customise at the end, they have free pickles, sesame seeds, fresh ginger, chilli etc. Would recommend if you are in the area

From the first time the Ippudo chain launched their Vegan Akamaru for a limited time, I always hoped they would put it permanently in their regular menu. Sadly it didn’t happened, but at least they put it permanently here.

More Vegan Options than Non! - Edit
I laughed when my non-veg husband complained that there were only two options for him. 🤣 They have a special extra spicy 🌶️ 🥵 one right now that burned my face off (very good though, but seriously HOT!). The red and white one is good, too.

Tasty ramen, good price - Edit
There are 6 ramens on the menu, of which 4 are clearly marked as plantbased. 1 of them is standard sold out it seems (the one with 22 vegetables). However, the option I had was great too! Really rich broth and nice chewy ramen. I was satisfied after. Haven’t had the chance yet to try the gyoza. Maybe next time because it’s a place I’d like to go back to 🤩

Ippudo Steppin' Up their Plant Game - Edit
Ippudo has seen the value of offering plant-based options and they've recently opened up a "plant based studio" at their Lumine Est location. Now vegan ramen lovers can find another option in the grand city for their noods.
Read moreNote: the former Ippudo location at Lumine Est has closed and they've moved up to the 8th floor to open up this new, open concept restaurant offering plant based ramen.
The restaurant is a bit misleading as they still sell two types of tonkotsu ramen, but also have three kinds of vegan ramen prepared with a soy milk base, as well as vegan gyoza. I ordered the White Plant-Based Ramen (¥990) with a side of gyoza at the counter. They give you a number and will buzz you once it is ready.
The ramen here was everything I remembered Ippudo to be, just with a plant-based twist. I was very happy with the hearty bowl of ramen - firm noodles, mushroom used to emulate cha-siu, and all the crushed garlic and sesame seeds you'd like to include to amp up your meal.
Super happy with how this all turned out and am grateful that we're starting to see more vegan ramen options be available in Tokyo. Thanks Ippudo, you have my respect. Now if you can make the menu completely plant-based then that would be great!
Pros: Vegan ramen and gyoza options, AYCE garlic and sesame seeds toppings, Open seating
Cons: Not fully plant-based menu

Good ramen broth - Edit
The vegan ramens (both red and white) were good. The broth was especially tasty. The noodles were a little too soft for me. Also the toppings were very good in flavor but lacked texture. I would have preferred some soy meat that could be bitten into.

Soy milk overcooked and split - Edit
Disappointed that a 'plant based' ramen restaurant would serve ramen with the soy milk split... I still enjoyed the flavour, but I can't recommend anyone to come here because of this.
