Serves meat, vegan options available. A small cafe located on the 2nd floor of the Coach & Four Culture Hall in Kushiro. Offers monthly health related activities and workshops that focus on wellness and childcare. Has an assortment of teas and juices as well as coffee and a soy latte. For vegan options, offers a vegan burger set with fries, vegan burger on a rice bun, pickled veggies and salad. Also has taco rice that can be veganised. Open Mon-Sun 11:30am-6:30pm. Vegan in Kushiro! - Edit
Japan can be quite difficult to be vegan in when you’re not living in Tokyo, so imagine my surprise when Ipe opened up in Kushiro! Considering that the only other vegan option has infrequent store hours, Ipe has quickly become my favorite place, especially considering how friendly everyone is here! The vegan burger set is delicious and very filling! There is also a Taco Rice that can be made vegan as well. There’s an assortment of teas, juice, and coffee to choose from. The owner (and everyone who works there) knows what vegan is, so they are happy to help answer any questions about the menu. Despite the language barrier, they were really helpful to me when I first arrived and have cemented this place as my favorite go-to when I need a relaxing place to unwind. Hopefully, in the future, they will be able to add more vegan-friendly options (or even opt to be completely vegan!) I recommend going whenever you’re in the area! It’s located on the 2nd floor of the Culture Hall, which is located across the Kushiro River and Starbucks.
