Awesome family-owned Indian restaurant!

So we tried going to Barrel District but the wait was too long, so we ended up here, at the other end of the strip mall. We didn't have a reservation and most of the tables looked to be reserved, but they found a table to accommodate us. Score!

So it had been years since I've been here, and at that time, I was not vegan. I had browsed their menu online and noticed that there were a LOT of vegan options, INCLUDING NAAN!!! My favorite bread ever! Unfortunately, the printed menu in the restaurant does not denote which items are vegan, vegetarian, organic, or gluten-free. We were referred to the website. AND, it turns out there are ERRORS on the website. The naan, in fact, is NOT vegan! BOOOO!!!

I tried to order a vegetarian complete dinner with vegan substitutions, and our wait person (family member) was very helpful stating there could be substitutions, but apparently one of the items for that day was not vegan. I guess they rotate some of the dishes included in the complete dinners so it's not necessarily the same each time. My plan b was to order an entree and a side of the vegan naan. Again, shot down, but was told the website would be corrected. I finally ended up just getting the Channa Saag with rice. She offered the Tandoori Roti as a substitute for the naan and said it have a very similar texture, so we did that as well.

The spice level on any of the dishes can be mild, medium or hot. Two of us opted for mild (one who doesn't like spicy at all) and the third opted for medium. Well, I would classify the mild as medium and the medium as hot. I don't even want to try the hot! Fair warning. When the rice arrived with the entrees, it was huge portion, enough for three, and we ordered two rices. Well, with all the spiciness, we ended up eating most of the rice between the three of us. All of the roti was gone, too.

Food here is EXCELLENT! Service is EXCELLENT. Only comments are to update the website for the items which are incorrect. The restaurant can get warm, as well, in addition to the spiciness of the food. There were a few extra fans and an air conditioning unit set up. Not sure if the wall unit can't keep the place cool in the summer, or if it's just an ongoing problem. Regardless, GO AND TRY IT!!!

Pros: Great food!, Great service!, Lots of vegan options!

Cons: Can be a bit warm., Order no spice if you don't want spicy!

India Oven has truly captured my taste buds and heart!

The extensive vegan menu is a delightful surprise, and their online menu's detailed notes on vegan options make ordering a breeze. This is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite Indian restaurants. If I could award more than five stars this place would get it.

Despite initial reservations about the decor, the culinary experience is nothing short of amazing

We have gone multiple times now, always start with the Samosas, crispy on outside incredible flavor inside. For our entrees, we have had the following MUSHROOM MASALA, YELLOW DAAL are our top two favorites. Don’t forget the Naan. Unlike a lot of Indian restaurants they offer a variety of vegan naan. Top winner for us is the OLIVE NAAN

Pros: Amazing flavors, If you love spice, this is you place , Large selection of vegan naan

Cons: Decor. But never judge a book by it cover

Yummy food

Small place. Nice wait staff. Can’t remember the name of the name of the folded thin bread the came out once we sat down but it was really good. We weren’t too hungry so we only ordered samosas and it came with 2 sauces. I added both sauces to each bit of samosas 👍🏼👍🏼 The matar I asked for added veggies. Looks like it was frozen type mixed veggies. The flavor was so good we checked around our town to see if that dish is on the menu there.
