this was one of the best indian restaurants we've ever been to! the food was unique and just awesome.

Received a really tasty dal curry, after the wait staff not only went back to the kitchen to confirm that the dish was vegan, but also did not need any dietary clarification...which unfortunately is often necessary in Norway.

India Gate is a gem! - Edit
This place is a gem. There are very few restaurants in Haugesund that serves vegetarian dishes - especially vegan. The menu has a vegetarian section and at least four of the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan. Just make sure to tell the kitchen to leave out the dairy, as I think they use butter in som of their dishes. Make sure to try the Channa Masala and the Punjabi Daal. Both my fiancé and I love these dishes! They also have a couple of starters that might be vegan. Vegetable samosa and vegetable pakora - which are vegetables fried in gram flour. The staff is very friendly and most of them speak Norwegian and/or English.
