Terrible service and poor food - Edit
First things first, we spoke solely on French so this is not a case of two Americans frustrated by French people. We live here now so you can trust this is a true French experience.
Read moreThe patron was rude. We asked for a table. He just said it’s “complete,” meaning there’s no tables, but it came off as basically “just leave.” Then there’s an ad hoc line outside (in the cold). Finally we get let in. We order one pizza and 2 sodas. The waiter forgets one soda. We ask again. Nothing. 3rd time. Nothing. 4th time with a little more forcefulness. By then we finished our meal and the second soda finally arrives. We suggest he should take it off the bill, explaining it took 20 minutes and asking 4 times. He mutters something incoherent. We then go to pay and, of course, they charge us the 5 euros for one soda (half the price of the pizza itself btw). They refuse to take off the charge. I explain again. The waiter then says “but you got the soda.” That’s when the French got real good and we told them they were extremely rude. They didn’t care. So that’s the service. The pizza was mediocre at best, not even close to what others are saying. Maybe the French are just so starved for a decent piece of pizza, this place achieves that illusion. But it’s not good. It’s not Italy or NYC. It’s France. And if this is the best they have to offer, go get a nice piece of fish somewhere else. But it’s cheap. Just like their service.

The communication here was difficult. They said they do not have anything vegan (after I had explained what it means). Pasta also has egg in it. Finally we had a pizza and antipasti of grilled vegetables, but they were not good at all.

Ce restaurant est une agréable découverte ! Plusieurs options végétariennes sont proposées ainsi que quelques options véganes et les plats sont très bons, je les ai même trouvés particulièrement savoureux ! Par ailleurs, le personnel est sympathique, même lorsque l'on pose des questions un peu compliquées, et réactif. Il est toujours possible de demander des adaptations pour les plats (par exemple, version végane du risotto) sans que cela entraîne des complications. Enfin, le resto est très bien situé et les prix sont raisonnables, surtout pour la ville. Je recommande donc :)

Great food, great staff - Edit
It’s not easy to find vegan options in Deauville but Il Parasole was surprisingly very easy! They have a few vegan options on their menu like the Penne Arrabiata and you can even have a three course meal plan with a Grilled Vegetables in Sweet & sour sauce (which was surprisingly tasty) and a fruit salad as a dessert. They don’t have a Spaghetti Napolitaine on their menu but you can order it without a problem and it’s pretty cheap! Overall prices were very reasonable and the service was very quick. Our waitress Amandine and her colleague were very adaptive and we even switched out the type of pasta on our 2nd visit.
