No labeled vegan options

I had to ask a waitress for vegan pasta options (because in the menu nothing was labeled as vegan) and she offered me pici (thick noodles). We also had some bruschetta as an appetizer. Both dishes were very tasty but a small serve.

Pros: Delicious

Cons: Not many options, Nothing labeled as vegan, Small serves

No ready options on the menu, can make something

On the list it’s marked that vegan options would be marked with a W, but there was 0 options actually marked with the W on the menu. They were able to make the vegetarian pizza without cheese (there was tomato sauce, zucchini and eggplant on it), and it was good, but nothing special. Maybe they could have made something else vegan too, but the waitress did not speak English that well so I thought it might be safest to go with the pizza. Fortunately the staff mostly seemed to know what vegan means. Maybe they have more options during summer season? So would recommend this place if there’s no better options, but it’s nothing special for vegans.

Pros: Pizza was good

Cons: Nothing vegan on the menu, you have to ask

Opções simples, porém gostosas

As opções veganas estão claramente indicadas no cardápio. O macarrão é simples com molho vermelho, porém muito gostoso.

Great pasta with a view

I ordered pasta with garlic and tomato sauce. It was delicious and I would say the best in Siena. Than I had beans as a side dish, it was okey ( but probably from can). They had mark W for vegan meals in their menu. There were 3 options for main meal and than some side dishes.

Pros: Pasta, View, Staff knew about veganism

Cons: Only several options but at least some, Beans from can

Delicious pasta

Vegan dishes were clearly labelled. The pasta was really good.
Was a bit surprised about the generous amount of spinach since it’s a side dish. I’m not complaining😄

Delicious and great choices

There were lots of vegan options clearly labelled on the menu. It's a very popular place to eat. The owner was very accommodating and understood vegan food options.
I had a fabulous vegan bean soup with bread. There was also bruscettia, pasta, many vegetable side options, good wine and dairy free milkfor coffee. My party wasn't all vegan and everyone enjoyed their meals.

A good view of Sienna and the Duomo (especially at night).

Bien…

Authentic & Delicious

We visited Il Masgalano several times during our stay in Siena.

This restaurant has the best of everything you need. It’s very popular among the locals so you end up being surrounded by Italians and they know how to create a great atmosphere.

The food is very delicious and fresh and there are many different dishes to choose between.

The staff is extremely kind, friendly and helpful when asking for the vegan options.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere with several beautiful paintings by a local artist.

So, if you are tired of the tourist restaurants, few minutes’ walk from the center will take you to this authentic Italian pearl.

Pros: Delicious food, Great service, Authentic

Delicious!

Relatively many vegan options - two pastas, bean soup and 4 different sides.
The pasta was delicious - we ordered the grilled vegetables and baked peppers and mixed them in which was even better! And the white bean soup was superb too - all the beans and lentils were cooked to perfection!

delicious!

i loved this place! apart from having the traditional tuscan pasta (pici) that is accidentally vegan as it’s made only with flour and water, they had a couple of other clearly labed vegan options! we did go for the pici all’aglione tho and it was amazing how such a simple recipe could be SO tasty
wine was also great and they have lovely views

Delicious traditional Italian vegan options

Mouthwatering dishes, clearly labelled vegan and vegetarian. Soy milk, white bean, lentil and chickpea soup, vegan pasta, amazing side dishes of sautéed spinach, peppers in olive oil and beans with sage and garlic. We sat in the sun, with our dog, and were full of vegan flavours!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly and knowledgeable staff, English speakin, Fantastic views, sitting outside
