Bad service

Order food from here and only got half the order. Tried to sort it out with the staff but they were very unhelpful and didn't want to know. Running a restaurant isn't just about food, you have to treat people correctly too.

Cons: Bad service

Decent hummus but pricey

Nice hummus, typical Thai style and not the same as Western but still tasty. Hummus and pita 160 so quite expensive but a portion could be shared for a light bite.

Pros: Very nice decor and vibe, Air conditioning, Attentive staff who speak english

Cons: Expensive

Good humus

They serve some pretty good (rich, creamy) humus. but I wouldn't say it's the best hummus I ever had. The condiment sauces that come with the dishes work well as a pallete cleanser. Thought the pita bread was okay, though it lacked in texture and it wasn't served hot.

Where I was really dissapointed was the roasted cauliflower. I mean, if you have it on the menu it should be roasted fresh (I know it takes a while). It was served at room temp, and you can see the kitchen just keeps a few of them on the rack. It also tasted bitter.

Not a bad experience but don't think it's worth the hype or the price.

Cons: Roasted cauliflower

Nice tranquil spot

Very good food. Some of the best falafel I've ever had, nice and crispy and not dry. Everything was fresh. It's located down an alley in a cool location. Sit inside or out. Inside ambiance is very nice!

Pros: All vegi or vegan food.

A welcome change

Although we are very happy to eat thai food every meal, this was such a nice change. Hearty and authentic mediterranean food at such an affordable price! The falafel was the best i’ve ever had and we even got complimentary coconut puddings at the end of the meal which was lovely!! Please try this place out.

A word of caution: the big sized drink is actually a 1 litre bottle enough for 3-4 ppl to share, dont make the mistake of ordering 1 per person like we did!!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Air conditioning

The Best Middle Eastern Food in Chiang Mai

I love Thai food but sometimes I want something a big different for a change. I was recommended to try Hummus by several friends of mine who are also vegetarian and vegan, so I went down with some friends to give it a go.

The place is pretty hard to find, it's right near Tha Phae Gate but down a little alley way, so the entry is easy to miss. The place is new so everything looks really nice once you get to the end of the alley which opens up into the restaurant.

I tried the spicy avocado hummus with pita bread and the falafel. Both were really good. The hummus was not too oily and texture was smooth and creamy. Really similar to hummus I'd eaten in Istanbul. The chili avocado was a nice touch (I love avocado) but there are many other options for those of you who want other types of hummus.

The falafel wasn't dripping in oil like a lot of other places do, so I didn't feel unhealthy eating them. The pita was light and went really well with the other dishes. There was also some tahini and pickled vegatables that came free with the dishes.

I'm vegan so I didn't try the Shakshuka, which has eggs in it, but my friends did and they said it was great too.

Pros: Many vegan options, Healthy, Delicious

Cons: Difficult to find

Great new place

Modern restaurant opened up in the centre of the old city. Offers lots of different interesting Middle Eastern falafel style dishes many of which are vegan or can be made vegan. Food is really tasty and this place is bound to become popular, it's only just opened. Go and try it!
