They are no longer at this location. If they may have moved to a different location, please let us know. So miss their delicious BBQ.

Good news! They posted an Instagram notice for a Labor Day pop-up at a different location. So looks like they are still occasionally operating and may regroup for a different operation.

Horrible experience - Edit
The traffic into Houston was heinous. The parking was nearly non-existent. The heat was oppressive! Trying to find a place to eat our food was almost comical. We finally found a Starbucks with a table out of sight. We DID order Starbucks so we could sit there. The food was THE BEST. I’ve been places. Seen things. Eaten stuff. This was pure joy. My southwest burger and elote not only filled me up (difficult for my half-giantess self), it made me forget the awful experience I had to get through to enjoy such amazing food. Please support them as they are still in a trailer on the corner. They NEED a building with their own look and feel seating and decor. I will NEVER drive through Texas without putting this place on my route!!

Am hoping they improve! - Edit
Decent but not to die for. People rave about their BBQ sauce and the guy ahead of us in line said there’s a lot of sauce so hopefully we like it. But I barely had any sauce and they were out of the “wangs” so perhaps they were also running out of sauce so were skimping. The links I had were Beyond sausage links so was a little pricey for that and I was really looking forward to the homemade sauce.

Great Texan BBQ - Edit
We visited Texas from New York and wanted to find some BBQ. So happy that we found this food truck. It was a bit tricky to find parking but we were lucky to find a spot on a side street. We had the Brisket Mac and Smokey Links plate with potato salad and baked beans.

Decreasing Quality - Edit
These folks have been consistently a 5-star establishment for the years I've been visiting Houston. I love these folks so much, that I've always made it to point to go visit regardless of where I was staying in Houston. I am not sure what happened, but I have noticed a decrease in qualiry these last few months while visiting. The mac is no longer creamy and has been dry. The potato salad, which was the best I have ever tried, is now watery and lackluster. You can even see a physical difference in the phots I've posted. Thankfully their veef and sausage links have not changed. They need to adjust their sides and return to the glory they once were.

Idk what happened - Edit
The first time I went here it was literally hands down fye. I knew I had go visit each time. Second time I went it wasn't the same. Food was mediocre and the BBQ sauce didn't taste like that first time. On top of did not have that smokey bbq tastes.
Read more3rd time I went I was just disappointed. I knew when he told me my food would be ready in 8 minutes that it was going to be good.
I ordered chopped veef sandwich, wangs with Mac and beans, with a lemonade.
As I said the bbq smokey flavor sauce they had at first isn't the same. So the food doesn't hit like it use to. The wangs were decent but already cold when I got them. Mac and cheese was dry with no flavor or seasoning. Beans tasted like straight bell pepper. Lemonade was hot like they didn't put it in the fridge. If you know ppl are going to want drinks, have some cold already.
Not to mention the attitude and atmosphere of the staff. When I first/second time I went the vibe was great. Happy Cheerful. This last time 😤👎🏾......
I'm just real disappointed that this is a place I said I'd never miss now I'm just like I'll check it out ever 6 months to see if it got better.
As vegans we pay too much for food for it to be mediocre and ish.
I'm just being honest..
Cons: Location, Staff attitude , Food taste decline

Oh my! Went here for first time. Smelled fantastic. Stacks of wood outside… - Edit
I ordered almost everything they have! I had the BBQ baker (baked potato loaded with bbq beev and goodness), the sliders (vegan sausage sandwich), bbq wangs (bbq “wings”), and bbq elote (smoky grilled corn on the cob with spices and sauce). Had all 4 side: delicious bbq baked beans, potato salad, Mac n cheeze and grilled Brussels sprouts. LOVED it all! So did my omnivore husband! Favs were baked beans and Brussels sprouts, elote corn and ….oh boy, hard to say, but wangs at the top with sliders and bbq baker’s second. I’m going back and will order it all again. Because it was delicious reheated in the evening, so having extra is not a problem! #1fav is wangs. Amazing. The “bone” is a cut of sugar cane. If you’ve never had sugar cane, chew it and suck the juice out (learned that on a beach in Brazil). This was first class cooking. They could hold their own at the Houston Rodeo and BBQ cook off! So grateful for their work!!!

This BBQ truck is a special treat. The wangs are my favorite, but the Veef sandwich is great, too! I love Brussel sprouts, mac, and potato salad. Just tried the tacos with veef and that got 2 thumbs up as well!

STILL THE BEST VEGAN BBQ WORLDWIDE - Edit
I used to live in Houston a few years back and I still miss this place and I’ve traveled all along the west coast since. I CRAVE the elote and the link sandwich to this day and no restaurant has been able to do it like this food truck. The long line can be intimidating but I PROMISE it’s worth it. This truly is the BEST OF THE BEST! Please expand to more cities 😭

We came for dinner at the Houston Sauce Pit food truck this evening and the food was so good! It was great to sit outside and smell the wood smoker burning - very atmospheric. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Would definitely recommend a trip here.

Vegan barbecue…who knew? - Edit
Real barbecue with vegan ingredients. You can smell the wood smoke from a few blocks away. I had the baked potato, which was huge, with the links. Definitely was a great substitute for barbecue with meat.

Tasty vegan BarBQ - Edit
Had delicious BarBQ plate, with smoked wangs, traditional sides of creamy mac & cheese & well seasoned BarBQ baked beans. Sauce was good, not too sweet, just a hint of heat. Part of Houston Sauce Co, so sauce is one of theirs.
Read moreWangs were interesting; maybe May Wah brand with sugar cane "bone," but saucier.
Small food truck in food truck park on Almeda near Southmore. Conveniently located off highway 288, near museum district, 3rd Ward area. Reasonable prices.
Parking is tight in the area; paid parking lots nearby.
Pros: 100% vegan BarBQ with tasty sides, Good portions, reasonable prices, Conveniently located

We liked it - Edit
It’s nice to have vegan food other than Asian. It’s a small truck off a newly developed street. My favorite was the macaroni. Next time I’d try that brisket Mac n cheese. I’m not a fan of sweet bbq sauce. My Mexican non-vegan boyfriend liked it. Nice guys in the truck. 👍🏻 We’re happy to support a local small business!

The food here is very good, I personally love the swamp potato. It is on the pricier side but the portions are generous. I definitely recommend going early since the line can get long especially on Sunday.
