A must for Indy vegans

Separate vegan menu was offered to us the moment we walked through the door without us having to ask! And there are so many delicious vegan options for the entire meal, from vegan beer cheese appetizer to s'mores chocolate cake and creme brulee (vegan creme brulee!) that we both had trouble choosing. The food was delicious, the beer was great, and we'll be back now that we know about this great spot!

Oh, there's a nice fire pit area right out front with a live musician when we came on Friday night, so that's a great option for those nicer nights.

Pros: Lots of vegan options from apps to meals to desser, Separate vegan menus for food and desserts offered

Great vegan menu

We were driving through Indy on the way to Chicago and decided to stop here for dinner. This place is a standard sports bar type restaurant with a vegan menu upon request. I was really impressed with the vegan menu which was pretty extensive for this type of restaurant, which normally would have very little to choose from for vegans. We ordered the beer cheese dip with fries which was delicious. The cheese dip was a bit runny but the flavor was amazing. It tasted exactly like cheese, no funny fake cheese flavor at all. My fiancé who is not vegan also enjoyed it, as did my 14 month old. The fries were also really good. I ordered the black bean burger with garlic broccolini which was really good. The black bean burger was a little mushy inside though, but flavor was good and the broccolini was great too. I give it 4 stars based on selection and the cheese dip. The burger was good but it could be better. Service was great and the place was very clean and prices were reasonable. They also had a nice beer selection on tap and I enjoyed a local IN beer Citropia which was nice.

Pros: vegan selection, vegan cheese dip, beer selection

another addition to our itinerary

We were traveling back to the midwest from the beach and wanted one meal to sustain us for the last 300 miles without going into the downtown area. This place was slightly out of the way but well worth it. The owner greeted us right away and he and the waitress explained many of the menu items and prep methods. The vegan menu was 2-sided so it took awhile to decide. We had the onion rings with jalapeno ranch, the black bean burger with sundried and fried green tomato, and the eggplant tenderloin. All were excellent. I wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese as a side, however.

Pros: unique vegan menu with several options, friendly and helpful staff, quick service, fair pr

Great options for everyone!

Loved Hops and Fire. Friendly staff, quick service, but not rushed. Live music was a little loud. So impressed with the large vegan menu- many different options. Also loved that they offered a vegan kids menu! Also did not have to ask for vegan menu- they offered vegan, vegetarian, & gluten-free menus when seating us. Food was delicious- will definitely visit again next time we're in town- wish they were in our hometown!

Pros: Large vegan menu, Vegan kids menu

Cons: Live music is loud

Unique, Flavorful Menu Options

The vegan menu at Hops and Fire is seriously unique! You won't find the boring veggie burgers or spaghetti here! I tried the PLT sandwich, the Southwest Nachos, and the Deep Fried Cauliflower Bites. Everything was amazing and the service was really fast, but never felt rushed. Highly recommend this place! The staff asks as soon as you walk in if you need a gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan menu.
