Short queue, choice of 4 vegan ice creams and 4 sorbets, went for salted caramel and white chocolate mint. Vegan cones available clearly marked but I think you get more in a tub. Knowledgeable staff who check if it's preference or allergy, and remembered us when we went back. Sign up for a members card (or say you will) and you get 10% off. There's also a loyalty stamp card for a free ice cream. Bit pricey at £4.50 a scoop (£4 with discount) but you get plenty and it's worth it for choice and quality.
As previous reviews say there is always a long queue. Lots of choice when you get in with a separate vegan section. We opted for raspberry and salted caramel. Both had lovely flavours and were a decent sized portion. There were a few clearly labelled cakes also.
Great selection, there were 11 options available in total but 1 had sold out, but 10 was still a great selection, the vegan ice creams were clearly labelled and in their own freezer, and most importantly the two that I had (white mint choc chip and salted caramel) tasted amazing!!! 🍨
There's always a very long queue at peak times so you need a lot of patience. I was lucky and there was just one couple but it still took a while to get my turn. The service is quick but non-vegans seem to be overwhelmed by the amount of options and take their time making the choice. The same cannot be said about vegan options though, as there were 6 vegan ice cream on offer - 3 fruit sorbets (lemon, pink grapefruit and one more, can't remember) and 3 flavoured ones (plain chocolate, coconut & blueberry, chocolate & cherry). I went for the chocolate & cherry and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The single scoop was massive so I didn't have a chance to try anything else.
I was a bit disappointed as other reviewers mentioned a wider range of vegan options, so I had high expectations. However, the ice cream was truly delicious, so if you don't mind the wait, it's worth it.
We queued for about 40 minutes to get an ice cream from Hoorays. Once at the front of the queue we asked about vegan options and were shown to the vegan cabinet. It was late in the day so 2 flavours had run out, but that left us with 4 options (normally I’d be very happy with 4, but it was a bit disappointing seeing the 12 available for happy cow reviewers last year). There were also 3 vegan cake options: brownie, crumble bar, and carrot cake.
We chose the pecan brownie and the salted caramel and brownie ice cream. Both were ok; not unpleasant, but certainly nothing to write home about.
I’m hoping that as lockdown eases and the weather warms up they increase their choice of flavours and cakes. Some vegan crepes would also be a big improvement as that’s still unique in 2021, but 3*s is all I can give based on today’s expense unfortunately.
There was a queue for this place, and it was worth the wait. We tried the kiwi, and the salted caramel with brownie! They were so good! I am often disappointed by vegan ice cream flavours but not today!! Get yourself a delicious dessert.
They introduce and rotate flavours so not always the same but always lovely. 12 flavours all labelled with the vegan logo, and they have vegan cones.
Today vegan gelato options were; salted caramel brownie, coffee, chocolate, and white mint choc chip.
Sorbet options were; pink grapefruit gin, raspberry floradora gin, pear and dark chocolate, pomegranate and dark chocolate, mango, passionfruit, lemon, and raspberry.
Handful of cakes, including; chocolate brownie, flapjack, blackcurrant crumble, and another I’ve forgotten.
Hot drinks, including; coffee with soya, almond and oat milk, teas. Also lots of cold drinks and they can sometimes make a freakshake for you but it’s not on the menu.
They have some savoury vegan options too, but the gelato is too good to even think about having anything else❤️
Dogs allowed in the garden!
There’s an amazing staff member who was very knowledgable about veganism and helped me with whatever🌱💚
The Banana Split Gelato was very nice. Could have used a stronger flavour, and more mix ins. They have clearly marked Vegan options. The establishment was a little hectic. If in the area I would definitely return here on warm Spring/Summer day
I had a very tasty raspberry sorbet from Hooray’s Gelato Kitchen! They had lots of other vegan options, but I was told this was the safest bet for me with a nut allergy. The lady kindly checked through all of the ingredients with me for nuts, and reassured me that they had never had issues with nut allergy sufferers reacting to their sorbets. She gave me so much of her time and attention considering there was such a long queue. I would definitely recommend!
There were two or three vegan ice cream flavours on offer at the time we visited, along with several dairy-free sorbets.
I had the white mint choc chip and chocolate cherry and they were delicious!
We were told there is a risk of cross-contamination as the same machines are used to produce the non-vegan ice creams, so useful to know if you have an allergy but otherwise not a problem.
