Serves meat, vegan options available. Typical Chinese food restaurant. Has several vegetable rice and noodle dishes, spring rolls, tofu, as well a few dishes with mock meats. Open Mon-Sun 12:00-16:30, 20:00-00:00.
Looking for somewhere still open around 10pm and found this place on Happy Cow. They do not serve mock meats, so I was a little disappointed to see previous reviews mention this and then not be able to get it. However they were very friendly and accommodating to adapt any dish to make it vegan with the addition of tofu. The guy who served us seemed to have knowledge of what vegan means, despite the slight language barrier.
I had Hong Kong style tofu (nice flavour), hubs had tofu with black pepper sauce (needed more pepper), both with boiled rice.
The food was… ok. I was hungry, I enjoyed my meal and I want to encourage others to go so that they keep serving vegan options, but it was just a little lacking in flavour. I’m a spice fiend though, so maybe for a more delicate palate it would be suitable? A solid 3.5 out of 5 for the food, 4.5 for service😄
The lady serving us was very friendly. Eventhough we didn't speak a common language she understood that I ordered vegan food and advised that the spring roll wouldn't be vegan and gave me an alternative. The food was really tasty, a pleasant experience.
With not many vegan options on the island and particularly in the capital, it was a blessing finding a restaurant with several vegan options. All the typical Chinese restaurants vegan options plus mock meats as well. Good prices
