If you like ice cream and coconut, this is the place for you!

Before the company opened an ice cream stand in Vegan Garden in 2018, their ice creams were already available pre-packaged in little plastic containers in several health stores, and also in some pubs in Budapest. I was very happy to see vegan ice cream becoming more widely available, especially because the brand popped up also in more remote places (once I found their packaged ice creams in a pub on the bank of the river Danube, in the 3rd district, far from the city centre), but I only tried them out once or twice. The ice creams had a prominent coconut taste, but I did not draw any general conclusions back then yet.

I am a huge ice cream lover - always was. I was nearly jumping with joy when I heard the brand is opeing a stand in Vegan Garden: this meant not only an all-vegan ice cream stand, but also one that is within a few minutes walk from us. I was imagining eating ice cream every day, all through summer... then came the disappointment. The company never tried to hide that they use coconut milk for the base, but unfortunately they also don't try to hide the coconut taste in any way. This results in all flavours having a prominent coconut taste, and the end result is rather "coconut ice cream with some x flavour mixed in", and not "x-flavoured ice cream", and this stands for basically all the flavours I tried. Don't get me wrong, I like coconut, but I'm not that big fan of it that I'd like to have it in every single ice cream scoop I have. I want my walnut ice cream to taste like walnuts, and if I'd like to have ice cream that tastes like coconuts, then that's the flavour I'll choose. I tried several flavours, but after 7-8 I gave up😒I still love that there is this option available, and I will definitely visit them again if the Garden reopens this year, but only when I fancy eating coconut-flavoured ice cream. On other days I'll continue to frequent other gelaterias that offer vegan options - which are mostly fruit flavours. Too bad, because the non-fruity tastes were my favourites, and thus the ones I've been missing the most ever since I became vegan. Nuts (hazelnut, peanut, walnut), chocolate, caramel, cheesecake, oreo, brownie, yogurt... but, sadly, not coconut.

Pros: all-vegan, in the heart of the city, fair price (similar to non-vegan ice cream)

Cons: all flavours have a prominent coconut taste :(

best part of my whole trip to Budapest!

All I can say is WOW!!! Everything vegan and every flavor a winner! My top favorite was lemon cheesecake which includes the crumble base, as does their raspberry cheesecake flavor. Also salted caramel, brownie, pistachio were drop dead yummy!!! I was so happy I may have cried a bit! Located in vegan garden alongside a few other vegan food trucks. A must visit!

Pros: amazing flavor, excellent atmosphere, I think 15 choices, inexpensive

Cons: none

Creamy goodness

Cute little ice cream stand with a decent amount of flavor selection. Most of the flavors have a coconut milk/cream base so there is a hint of it when it melts on your tongue. But the other flavors still come through because, especially with the fruit flavors, they are using great ingredients. The texture is nice and smooth and not gritty like some vegan ice cream tends to be. I think that because of the low volume of traffic, once a flavor runs out, it's out for the day.
