A beautiful birthday meal had. A fully Vegan menu (ask for it) about 10 options including Vegan Halloumi and Beetroot burger and Paella. DELICIOUS and generous servings. The views from the pub are breathtaking.

The Heron just happened to be our half way stop off when kayaking up from Falmouth and what an amazing stop it turned out to be.

We sat outside on the rare sunny day with beautiful views over the river and the staff were wonderful.
The only downside was that there was only one vegan dessert which was (you guessed it) sorbet. HOWEVER the different flavours they had were really interesting and tasted amazing.
Well worth the late fee on the kayaks.

Very vegan friendly - Edit
I have eaten at the Heron Inn, Malpas, twice, and each time I have been delighted with the large, separate menu for vegans. The choice is wide and each meal is nicely balanced nutritionally - a rarity! The food looks beautiful on arrival and tastes wonderful. The chef is also very happy to adapt meals from the main menu to suit a vegan diet. Standards are high here, but not the price. The setting of The Heron Inn is idyllic, overlooking the Truro River, and meals can be eaten outside. Parking is nearly impossible, so park in Truro and take the 35 min walk along the river to the village. Perfection!

Stunning riverside setting with great food from vegan menu - Edit
The location is stunning, with a view over the Truro river, with the little boat going to and from Falmouth just below.
Read moreUnusually for a pub in the countryside there are loads of vegetarian options marked on the main menu, and a separate vegan menu which you can ask for at the bar. We've had the curry, the nut roast and the paella, and all were top notch, tasty, beautifully presented meals. The waitress this time also recommended some local fruit beers which are labelled as vegan-friendly on the bottle. Thoroughly recommend walking out here from Truro if you're in the area.
Pros: Special vegan menu, Staff understand vegan/vegetarians, Stunning setting on the river
Cons: Not much parking, so it's best to walk there!
