Surprising dishes - Edit
Although I really appreciate this place for having multiple (tasty) vegan options, I’m not sure I’d go back anytime soon.
Read moreWe ordered the vegan bitterballs to share (very tasty) and three course vegan menu (about €50 pp). The starter was very tasty, the main dish was okay, the dessert was good (see photos for the dishes). Portion sizes were good, we were filled to the brim when leaving.
Two downsides that make me hesitate to go back soon:
- They promoted a craft beer deal the day we were there, but this had so many exceptions/rules/side notes that it “killed” the mood/deal. If you make so many exceptions, just don’t offer a deal. Also, the staff wasn’t well informed about how it worked.
- The quality of the music boxes was so bad it was distracting… the bass was so off I could feel it in my body, and normally I’m not too sensitive to this. We asked if they could do something about it twice but they just didn’t understand. Too bad! Will probably be a while before I give this place another try.

Cons: On the expensive side , The quality of the music was terrible , Friendly but “amateurish” staff

Plenty of vegan options - Edit
Nothing about this restaurant makes you think it's got plenty of vegan options, but it does! Their tapas/appetizer menu has more vegan than non-vegan options (even if they list regular fries under the vegan list, hehe), and they even have several vegan desserts. I had the spinach bitterballs which were delicious (being Dutch I did miss the small bowl of mustard that usually comes with bitterballs hah), and then the vegan cheese fondue as the main dish (how could I not?!)... My non-vegan partner was positively surprised by the vegan cheese, and yes, it's delicious and very melty, unlike 99% of the vegan cheeses out there that claim to melt. It's a bit one-note as a dish, but as an experience for a vegan, it's unbeatable and not to be missed😄I finished the evening with a vegan lemon curd pie which was, once again, delicious. A very, very nice surprise, Gusto-040.

Two different experiences - Edit
First time I went here earlier this year I thought it was great! We only ordered vegan main dishes and dessert. Great taste!
Read moreSecond time I went there with two friend to have tapas outside on the terrace. Lovely to sit there. The tapas were not great in my opinion. The grilled veggies were not grilled enough (especially the eggplant). Other tapas tasted ok but not as well as the main dishes some weeks before.
Staff is great by the way. Very friendly.

Read moreIt took a bit long for the food to arrive, but once it did, it was completely worth the waiting. The vegan cheese fondue looked and tasted amazing as did the portobello steak. The portions were good too. The dessert was extremely tastefull (chocolate mousse with speculoos crumble) and we were quite shocked to hear what it was made of (I won't spoil it for you).
The staff and atmosphere are also great since it is not too big and there are a lot of decorations all over the place. It's also easy to get to by car (free parking), since it's close to a big road.
I would definitely come back here :)

Easy going low profile rest. Enjoyed the vegan cheesefondue. We found the amount of bread to dip limited, but was kindly added on request. This reduced leftover food. Friendly staff, fast response.

I went on a date to this restaurant. I checked the menu online and saw there were quite a few vegetarian and vegan options. When we got there they also offert a 4 course Christmas dinner meat of vegan.

We had a beetroot tartar, a sweet pepper (or paprika) soup, a portobello steak with risotto, and a non vegan dessert delicious chocolate mousse.
The atmosphere and the personnel was very nice. We paid about 50 euro each including drinks.
We definitely are coming back to this restaurant!

I went to this restaurant on a date with my boyfriend. Their menu is varied and built up to satisfy every taste. They have great vegan options. I ordered the superstar of their vegan choices, which was the cheese fondue. It was really tasty, very cheesy and it came with many fresh fruits, vegetables and bread to dip in the cheese.

Desert was also awesome because they have vegan carrot cake.
They told me that most of their sauces are plant based, and they are planning to transition even more into this direction, The staff was super friendly.
I had an amazing dinner in this restaurant.

Very tasty, Good quality food, with a nice ambience in the restaurant. There were 2 vegan mains on the main menu plus the non-wild stew and the vegan cheese fondue on the specials menu. There were also several vegan tapas and a vegan carrot cake for dessert.

Me and my boyfriend have truly enjoyed the food and experience at Gusto040. We ordered some tapas (mashed pumpkin, tomato/figs soup, 'pulled pork' sandwich) and the vegan cheese fondue. The flavours were absolutely great, using tasteful combinations of ingredients. Also the drinks are good: nice specialty beers and home made lemonade.
