Okay

I mean there not that many places in Mulu.. Fried Rice is good but I found the Price quite high for the portion size. And I just now read in the other review that the Tofu had egg😒

The tofu here has egg in!!

There is a good range of veggie options here, but be warned that the tofu is Japanese egg tofu!! We made the mistake of ordering extra tofu then instantly realising it had egg in it😒

Good lunch/dinner options

Multiple tasty options for lunch/dinner. Was able to make breakfast work with the included rice porridge/oatmeal but was quite basic.

Range of vegetarian options, need to emphasize no egg

I stayed at the hostel in the park HQ and had breakfast here as well as lunch. There is only one veganizable breakfast option (fried beehoon/ vermicelli) and you must repeatedly emphasize no egg (they do not always note it down properly and it’s premade with egg so you need them to make a separate dish for you). Breakfast comes with self-serve congee that is also vegan if you don’t add fried fish as a topping, fresh fruit and self-serve tea and coffee. I tried their sweet and sour tofu for lunch and it was good but the portions were on the small side and it was quite pricey. They do have quite a range of Malay dishes that can be made vegetarian, so you will not get bored of eating the same thing all the time. However, for more filling and budget-friendly meals I suggest going to Good Luck Cafe at the park entrance instead and asking for vegan fried noodles or rice.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian lunch/dinner vegan options, Convenient hours (open throughout the day), Takes credit card

Cons: Limited vegan breakfast options, Expensive and small portions, Does not always remove egg as requested

Mmmmulu

Really really delicious vegan versions of classic Malaysian dishes. Some of the best FM has had in 3 weeks in the country. Nice ambience open to the forest and the river. The laksa was superb but the choi sum is also must try!
