Lecker aber laut - Edit
Es gibt eine Veggie-Bowl, die sehr lecker ist. Das Ambiente ist außergewöhnlich, da das Restaurant teilweise in einen Felsen gebaut wurde. Leider ist es da sehr laut, da es direkt an dee Hauptverkehrsstraße liegt.

Nice meal at a Michelin restaurant - Edit
This was a nice meal at a Michelin starred restaurant. The options are limited, but the plantain Moqueca is a traditional dish in Brazil, so it’s not an invented substitute for the fish version. The restaurant was small with a friendly staff, but it would have been more enjoyable without loud children with indulgent parents.

Good options but could be better. - Edit
We got the beet pasta and the veggie bowl. They accidentally brought me spaghetti Bolognese… probably just a language barrier because beet does sound like meat. They were very apologetic.

Tolles Restaurant und Bar - Edit
Wir waren mehrmals in der Gruta. Manchmal nur zum trinken aber auch zum Essen. Wir hatten die Salat-Bowl, den Burger und die Pasta mit roter Beete. Alle drei Gerichte waren mega lecker und so gut vertäglich. Lagen nicht schwer auf, haben satt gemacht und würden wir sofort wieder essen. Tolles Ambiente, besonders am Abend. Am Tag fehlt ein bisschen die Sonne aber andere finden das vielleicht ein Vorteil. Nettes und kompetentes Personal.

Good service with limited vegan options - Edit
We ordered the veggie bowl and the veggie burger after the staff confirmed that they are vegan. The bowl was good and very filling, the burger was okay and came with a small salad and a sauce for the fries. Not sure if the salad and sauce were really vegan, so we gave them to our non-vegan friend who was eating with us.😄

The ambience is very particular and quite charming. The veggie bowl was filling and tasty, though quinoa, beans and bulgur might benefit from a bit of a sauce.

Lovely location in the heart of Funchal but with a waterfront view. Super cute restaurant too. We only sat on the patio but they have a little rock garden seating area above and also what looks to be a very nice restaurant inside. Also gorgeous bathrooms (with toilet seats which seems to be an anomaly on this island lol!)
Read moreModerately expensive but it doesn’t conceal itself as a budget eats spot. For the type of place I think it was very reasonably priced for a nice meal out.
Pasta could’ve admittedly used salt, but that could just be my low bp taste taking haha.
