Great vegan cafe - Edit
The green smoothie was delicious, and the salad was nice with so many different healthy ingredients. Their cakes looked delicious as well. The staff were really friendly and chatty.

Don't leave Brighton without coming here!! - Edit
Lovely little vegan cafe with such an inspiring owner, she told us how her and her wife started the business and all the work she puts in to making it what it is, all the products they sell are sourced locally and support local businesses! We came here after a run looking for some breakfast and the pancakes didn't disappoint! They make all their plant meats and they are so good!

Favourite place in Brighton. Vegan owned vegan business !! Best breakfasts, incredible drink selection. Service and staff are wonderful. Roasts are a specialty especially the handmade meats, steaks and bacon made by the team. Lil walk from centre of town but worth it !!

Breakfast muffin was very filling and really good value. We were there as soon as it opened so got our food relatively quickly but the tables served afterwards seemed to have a bit of a long wait for their food. Staff were very friendly, and cute little cafe

Very impressive breakfast menu, we had Mexican breakfast and muffin, straight away muffin looked a bit disappointing in comparison, maybe bc it wasn’t muffin but bread roll instead, but tasted amazing. It was perfect food to refuel between big bike rides and big portion was much appreciated. The best tea selection I have seen!

Read moreI would just say though that our muffins are indeed muffins. We are supplied daily by local artisan bakery Coburn & Baker and we are the only customer they make vegan muffins for, which I see from your pictures it was. We don't use bread rolls for anything unless it is gluten free (which look very different) as the bakers don't make vegan AND gluten free muffins.

A little disappointed given the reviews - Edit
Disappointing Service and food took a long time. I wasn’t offered a menu when I arrived and could see another table nearly left because of this after 10 minutes of waiting. It’s a shame because it’s very quick to just acknowledge people and give them a menu then return to everything else, when full it’s clearly needs an extra person.

We are so sorry you didn't have a great experience with us at Green Kitchen. It's not the service we usually offer at all. Menus are normally always on the tables ready for new customers unless being cleaned under Covid guidance at the moment. But we take that comment on board completely. All our dishes are cooked to order, so in busy periods, there can be a wait. However, we do usually communicate any delays to food being served and offer some complimentary drinks if significant, so I'm sorry this wasn't the case.
We have been blown away by how many of you have been visiting us lately and have actually since your review employed more staff.
We pride ourselves on how friendly and welcoming we are so we are truly sorry you didn't get the full Green Kitchen welcome. I do hope you try us again another time.

Read moreWe had the Full English, the Mini English, and a few different coffees. Everything was prompt, hot and delicious. The herby sausages were amazing.
Very good portion sizes 😂 if we were local, we’d be going back to try some other brunches too. The mains menu also looked good. Definitely visit if you’re in Brighton.

Its not right in town down the lanes like a lot of cafes here but well worth the short bimble up to. Staff are just the nicest, the food is lush. I particularly recommend the Sunday roast and probably booking ahead as it is popular. Its got a lovely, cosy feel to it with lovely decor and local art on the walls. They also deliver!

I did check you were happy with your meal at the time (we were rather quiet shortly before lockdown and as the chef I remember most customers and upon seeing your review did recall your visit) and would have been glad to have resolved the issue if you had said.

Visited for the breakfast menu and was not disappointed. Compact cafe on the way out of Brighton (or way in depending on your direction of travel!) that has a really nice vibe to it.
Read moreGreat menu with a lot of choice and options and lots of “homemade” items. We had full English breakfasts, adding the black pudding and an extra rasher. It was SO good. Sausage and rashers were cooked to perfection. Black pudding was a revelation. Hash browns, beans, scrambled tofu, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast. Everything you would expect to find on your plate for a Saturday brunch.
Highly recommended.

Me and hubby went as part of his bday week activities. The green kitchen provided friendly service, a nice atmosphere and great food to get us revved up for a day hike (scouring record shops! 😆) We had the tofu scramble and mushroom shallots. Stayed feeling well fed for hours afterwards ☺ My only mini complaint is that the scramble, at least, should have a bit more scramble and a bit less bread, considering the price.

Really good menu, everything Vegan except I think eggs which are available with some dishes on request. I had Seitan steak and chips, the first time I've had a Vegan peppercorn sauce which was delish. My partner had a burger with Mexican sauce which she loved. I've just polished off a really wonderful salt caramel brownie too.

Great vegan breakfast in this attractive vegan cafe near Preston Park. Have tried many vegan breakfasts in Brighton and this is probably the best - particularly love the homemade rashers, which you can also buy to take home.
