Ok food - Edit
They are never open when we go there lol. Says they open at 10 am. We were there at 10 am and the woman there told us they open at 10 but told us to come back at 11 because no one is in the kitchen before that... They should say that they open at 11 am then.
Read moreOnly the owner speak and understand english...
Had a shawarma wrap that was served with tzatziki and a few veggies on the side. The wrap was good bit the tzatziki was runny like milk.
Also had the israeli pita(?) with potato chips and yoghurt(?) on the side. The pita was good, but the potatoes were too oily and only tasted oil. Good yoghurt!
The shepherd's pie is basically just potato, basically no other fill...
Cons: Kitchen not open when they open, Most don't understand english, Expensive compared to others

Seems like you caught them on a bad day as the owners are from Israel and speak English very fluently, they are almost always around and they are amazing cooks. I hope you can give them another chance.

Confused by the recent 2* reviews.

Good value for money. Will definitely be coming back again before we leave. A must visit for vegans visiting Koh Phangan.

Delicious souvlaki! - Edit
One of the bigger restaurants in Sri Thanu with quite a few tables both inside and in the back garden. The menu had a wide range of options, like sandwiches, salads, raw food, pastas, different international dishes, etc. I had the tofu nuggets and the Greek Souvlaki -- both delicious! My favorite thing about this place however, was the goose in the garden, who was just walking around enjoying life :)

Nice atmosphere and good (and pricey) food - Edit
The schwarma pita pocket that my friend got was INCREDIBLE in my opinion!! We also ordered the tofu quinoa salad (which was okay but my friends thought it was weird - it was a lot of shredded tofu so not what I was expecting) , and the shepherds pie was good but not amazing.

Our favourite - Edit
We visited here twice, both times for dinner. We have been travelling around Thailand for a while, and was really craving some food that reminded us of home, and we were not disappointed. We had the spaghetti Bolognese the first night, then the following night we had the Shepard’s pie. The mushroom gravy was so good, even the side salad was so nice as it had a creamy dressing. The portion sizes were great. We also had the Tofu nuggets, they are so crispy and the creamy garlic mayo is spot on. Also our cravings have gone. Really going to miss these meals.

Recent improvements and cool vibes as usual! - Edit
Green Gallery has always been the spot to find authentic island vibes: fire pit, community gatherings, and live music to satisfy every taste. The recently updated menu has made it my favorite place on the island. They’ve addressed some of the previous oilier items and continue to offer the best vegan dishes on the island with a menu that covers tastes from many nations.

Nourriture excellente, accueil inexistante - Edit

Hopefully you have a better experience. - Edit
Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience here which was a shame as it has great potential to be amazing, the staff let this restaurant down big time.
Read moreIn short, I was waiting over an hour, only to find that my order had been given to someone else. When I asked about the situation, the girl working was very unfriendly and made me feel like it was my fault. Saying “what do you want?” In an aggressive tone. They told me my order was now being prepared and it would take a while (after already waiting an hour), I then decided to get a refund and leave.
If you try this restaurant I hope the staff have improved dramatically and offer you a fine meal that is promised on there menu.
Pros: Great atmosphere, Good menu
Cons: Terrible service, Rude staff
EinavDahan
Hello, if you are leaving a comment please be correct about what really happened... I did not tell you "what do you want" after you asked about the situation... You got your order after 3 minutes it was waiting on a different table and after your complaint about it being cold, I offered to worm it up and you where upset about the offer, expecting me to make you a new dish I told you "what do you want me to do? Throw away an untouched dish to the garbage and make you a new one?"
Read moreThat is what happened.
Also, upon your order we have told you there will be a long wait and the reason is there where over 100 people that night that came to listen to live music show (including you), on a completely free entry night as part of our service to the Koh phangan community.

Very Disappointing - Edit
After repeating our order multiple times, because we weren't sure if it was understood, we still got the wrong order. We immediately asked for a replacement, but we were denied. The staff here was very unfriendly.
Read moreInstead of Hummus Plus, which would've been with veggies and mushrooms, we just got a small plate of hummus. "Hummus Classic". Covered in lots of oil... Acne alert...
The hummus itself was very tasteless. When I make it at home, I always add dates, turmeric and paprika, to add flavour. This little hummus plate was completely devoid of flavour.
Compared to all the other vegan restaurants on the island, this was by far our worst experience. We won't be coming back here.
Cons: Small portions, Very oily, Unfriendly staff
EinavDahan
Hello.
Read moreThe hummus plus dish is a hummus plate served with pita and one more thing of your choice, like salad, falafel or vegan shawarma, just as it say on the menu which seems you have trouble understand what is written.
If you have ordered something and got something else there is no way we refused to correct the order.
Perhaps you where not clear with the staff which are local and let me remind you that you came to visit Thailand, yes you are a guest in another country, Thailand. And as the local staff did not ask you to learn Thai, I find it funny you complain about them misunderstanding your English.
Luckily the 2 owners are English speaking and one of us is always there in case there is a misunderstanding, you could always approach us, but obviously didn't.
About the hummus, we are making Israeli traditional hummus made with raw tahini, garlic and lemon and traditionally it is served with high quality olive oil (your oily feeling) tahini sauce, paprika, hysop and fresh pita bread that we make as well.
Seems to me you have problem understanding what is the difference between cooking oil and good, high quality olive oil.
Further more, you never ever put dates (sweet) on a real hummus.
Our Hummus is one of the most famous and desirable on the island, infact, there are many restaurants on the Island that are buying our hummus and serving it on their menu, which you have probably had without even knowing it's green gallery hummus. And the price for the classic hummus with pita bread is 150 baht only. A very low price for a high quality dish that is, by the way, a starter and not a main dish (referring to your complaint about the size)
Dear, welcome to Koh phangan, open your eyes... And if you are vegan I strongly suggest you support places that are actually doing something for YOUR cause instead of making a damage by writing a lousy review.

We went here twice. Once in the evening where the atmosphere was nice, natural setting with little lakes with noisy frogs😄When we went for lunch we were the only guests but service seemed to be a bit confused, e.g. forgot that we had ordered drinks. The mixed plate we had was ok, nothing special. But we really liked the sandwiches, one sabiche and one with vegan feta cheese - had really nice flavors, good sauces and the feta was amazing.

Bad service - Edit
Food is not bad. Tofu sticks were really tasty and so was hummus. The hamburger was a bit overcooked and tasted "burnt". Not a big deal. It can happen. Food in general is good and the menu is quite extensive. BUT unfortunately I didn't have a nice impression of the staff. We were barely welcomed and afterwards the staff completely disappeared. We were left with our empty dishes. We wanted to order a desert but there was no one. So after a while we decided to leave. And even then, we had to wait for about 30 minutes before someone showed up to let us pay. This is really unprofessional and I will not come back here.

Wholesome Yummy Vegan Food - Edit
This is a nice place run by friendly sisters from Israel. The menu is exhaustive and is the answer to prayers of food loving vegan. Plenty to offer on starters, mains, breakfast and drinks. We had a hummus plus which was a bed of hummus topped by Shawarma accompanied by a big fluffy pita bread:) Also tried platter of deep fried starters which was an assortment of fries, tofu nuggets etc.with dips. It was very difficult to choose from so much on offer. For what was offered I found the rates reasonable. The place also has a vegan shop selling stuff, sweets and desserts of different kinds. The seat out is in the garden, with a chilled out vibe.
