happy to have a local veg Chinese take away. Chow Mein dishes here are delicious. Almost entire menu is vegan apart from some egg - containing dishes, specify vegan when ordering.

Our local chinese takeaway - Edit
We get Great Wall pretty often and love it there. My partner always has the beef chow mein and chicken fried rice which he loves, and I sometimes try different dishes but particularly love the prawn toast, seaweed & wontons (mixed platter is a defo for me), a veg chow mein, and any of the satay dishes. I'm not always massive on faux meats so not as adventurous as I'd like to be with this menu, although shout out to the crispy chili beef as that is delightful.

Delicious and fresh! - Edit
Have been wanting to try here for ages, we finally managed it and were not disappointed. Definitely got carried away when ordering, but when faced with so many delicious options it’s hard not to! The vegan chicken balls were so delicious, bite size! The ladies working there was so friendly too 💚

Food okay, lovely owner - Edit
Maybe we hit it on a bad day as the food was okay but not outstanding. Ordered the duck in oyster sauce and prawns in satay. Duck ‘meat’ was the same as the ‘prawns’ and the satay didn’t even have a hint of peanut about it. However the wee Chinese lady in the shop was so patient and friendly and even got s book out showing us the countries her ingredients came from. Couldn’t fault the service or freshness, just taste wasn’t crazy good. Beware it’s cash only!

First class regular VEGAN Chinese take away! - Edit
I have been waiting to go here for years, I visit family in Norwich a couple of times a year. Last night I went and I will certainly use again.
Read moreIt’s just a ‘no frills’ looking corner street take away, 15 mins walk from city centre.
The lady owner and chef is so sweet. The menu is huge. I love mock meat in Chinese food and was like a kid in a sweet shop.
Every dish we bought to share was hot, fresh and cooked with love.
For veggies or vegans staying in Norwich, you are lucky to have this place. I recommend you collect food (cash only) or get a delivery from here.
It’s traditional, good value (plant based, with no risk cross contamination) and I will definitely be back.

Vegetarian Chinese Takeaway - Edit
My partner and I each ordered the Set Dinner for One which consists of sweet and sour chicken balls, beef style chop suey and special fried rice. We also had the mixed starter platter. Although everything was really tasty we didn't receive any sweet and sour sauce with the chicken balls so they were quite dry and lacked any flavour. Overall, we were very pleased at how extensive the menu was and how lovely the service was, we'll definitely go back but will check the order is correct first before leaving!

A must visit - the best Chinese takeaway in Norwich - Edit
Wow, this place is incredible. The menu offers all of the normal options that you would expect to find in a Chinese takeaway, but it is all vegetarian (vegan on request). The owner is often cooking all of the food and taking orders on her own and it really is amazing how good at cooking she is! A great selection of 'meat' alternatives - crispy 'beef', 'duck' in plum sauce and sweet and sour 'chicken' and 'prawn' balls are all available and taste incredible. The only Chinese takeaway that I will use now - even the chips taste amazing! Recommended for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike - this place does truly amazing food and is a must visit!

Wish we lived nearer to The Great Wall...... - Edit
Such a treat to go to an apparently "normal" Chinese takeaway and have such a massive choice. Lovely food, delightful owner who have us some "prawn" crackers for our Jack Russells who also had a fake meat omelette which they really enjoyed.

Delicious Chinese Takeaway Served with a Smile - Edit
I was really pleased to discover this hidden gem in Norwich as there isn't any other Chinese Takeaway open late which is all vegetarian. As a vegan, I was eager to try it out and I wasn't disappointed. The outside of the shop and even the menu looks deceptive, as there are no clues that the venue is vegetarian. But on closer inspection of the menu you are able to recognise the that the dishes are beef 'style' or chicken 'style' etc.I had to double check at first! I think this is an excellent way to present the place as that way meat-eaters don't easily dismiss the place. The only downside is that veggies and vegan are more than likely to assume that it is a meat-serving takeaway. I'm glad that this is now advertised on here so veggies are more aware of its existence. The owner is ever so friendly and she was more than happy to check that the dishes we wanted were vegan. She even prepared a special fried rice, without eggs and added goji berries. The menu has a vast selection, all the typical Chinese takeaway style dishes, but made with mock meats. We had sticky 'ribs', fried rice, 'chicken style 'balls and 'prawn style' sweet and sour. All very delicious and freshly prepared. We will visit again when we next fancy a treat. The food is inexpensive and there are set meal deals to chose from. The shop is also open late which is great as Loving Hut, which also sells Chinese food, closes very early at 4pm. I'm so glad I found out about Great Wall. The owner, a vegetarian also, seems very passionate about the food and she deserves the recognition.
