Cafe style restaurant located at the large Hare Krishna temple, south of Durban centre, in the suburb of Chatsworth. Lunchtime only venue for seated dining with curries and light snacks, and drinks can be a bought at any time of the day. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-3:00pm.

Amazing amounts of delicious food - go here to eat!

Govinda's is a vegetarian eatery with many delicious vegan options. I can't adequately describe the high delicious food-to-price ratio here. Four of us enjoyed a wide assortment of curries, lentils, mixed vegetables, chickpeas, butternut, greens, rice, biryani, roti, and a few drinks for under about R 200 (US $15 at current exchange rates). It was the only real meal we ate that day as it was a lot of food.

The place is a unique experience, staff are friendly, and there's a fairly large eating area or you can ask for take-away. For those interested in the temple as well as the great food, one can check out the temple as well.

If you find yourself in Durban, try Govindas, you'll enjoy it!
