Pretty good - Edit
Me and my partner went for lunch.
Read moreThe extensive menu is very similar/some stuff the same as Downtown Vegan.
I had mushroom n cheese burger which was pretty good, and nice fries.
My partner had scrambled tofu which he said was good n decent size.
We returned a few times during our 10 day trip.
We also had massaman curry and pad Thai, all delicious.
The cakes are not on same level of greatness, we tried blueberry and lime, and New York cheesecake- both a bit too dry.
Service a bit slow and uninterested.
I wouldn’t class this as “up market” but I guess by Chiang Mai’s standards it is.

Delicious vegan cakes and desserts! - Edit
Very few vegan restaurants offer cakes - which is what I loved most about Goodsouls Kitchen! I highly recommend going to their cake display fridge to see which cakes are fresh before deciding which one to order. I personally loved their blueberry lime cake.

Amazing array of Vegan dishes and incredible vegan desserts. - Edit
We went for dinner, and it was so good we returned for breakfast the following morning. Fantastic find! We needed a change from traditional Thai cuisine, so we ordered pasta dishes, salad, and beetroot burger. Everything was delicious. Portions were very generous. Don't know how we fitted in desserts, but they were great.

Went here a couple of times while staying in Chiang Mai Old City. We sampled lots on the menu and it was all excellent. On top of that it’s great value for money, friendly service, and an awesome modern aesthetic.

Reform Cafe 2.0 - Edit
This place is owned by Reform Cafe, and the menu is basically the same. They serve a variety of food, both Western and Thai. The cakes are amazing. The menu is a little garlic heavy for my taste.

Similar to Reform Kafe - Edit
As another reviewer mentioned, Good Souls kitchen appears to be a sister restaurant of Reform Kafe. The desserts are exactly the same and a lot of the menu is similar too.
Read moreWe tried the rigatoni with ricotta for lunch today and a side of garlic bread. Both were reasonably good, not exceptional.
Also, we went at an odd hour and the service was a bit of a downer. It was hard to get the attention of the servers who were chit chatting in the middle of the restaurant (barely any people in the restaurant since it was in between lunch and dinner service).
Overall, the food was decent but preferred our time at Reform Kafe (better service and ambience for almost the same menu)

I had the bagel sandwich with potato salad. The potato salad was delicious. I also loved the burger but it wasn’t on a bagel but I loved it regardless. They make a cashew cheddar cheese that’s just perfection

Great cream cheese - Edit
Pretty sure this is the sister restaurant to Reform Cafe.
Read moreI took a risk and ordered the bagel sandwich here. I say risk because I had a rock hard avocado at the sister restaurant. Good news, avocado still wasn’t ripe, but it was closer to ripe and tasted decent. The crown to the bagel sandwich is the cashew cream cheese. It was really good.

Some good souls working here - Edit
This was our first culinary experience in Chiang Mai, when we had breakfast there the morning we arrived. We ordered the scrambled tofu and the black sesame and jam pancakes, as well as an iced latte and a berry smoothie. The smoothie was so good my eyes rolled back in my head. The pancakes were good, with each one nicely distinct. The scrambled tofu was not quite as delicious. I found it a bit plain and unsatisfying and the portion was not huge. I would later discover that Reform and Downtown had pretty much the same menu and were all owned by the same person, which felt a bit corporate vegan. We returned to Goodsoluls a few times for lunch, smoothies and snacks. We found the spinach and cream pizza a bit bland and the penne napoletana fairly basic. The NY cheesecake lacked a base and the tiramisu didn’t (!). The cheesecake filling was also a bit unappealingly sour. Generally it’s quite a nice place with lovely staff, but given its upmarket status - with the associated prices being much higher than small local vegan businesses, some things are decidedly lacking. Long wait times - Edit
We went for dinner and we were very disappointed. We got in right away but we waited 10 minutes for anyone to take our order and 45 minutes for my food to come. My partners food didn’t show up after an hour so we cancelled his order and went elsewhere. The food was good, but there are way better places in Chiang Mai. Of all the places we ate, this was by far the worst. If you’re looking for Americanized Thai food this is your place as it’s clearly tailored to westerners that are nervous to try new things. If you want something authentic go elsewhere.
