A nicely designed Italian restaurant. The waitstaff was courteous, at times a little too keen on making money, but okay, that's what they're there for.

They can also make the starter plate vegan. I wouldn't recommend it though. It wasn't served in any nice way. Tomato, avocado, mushrooms, artichokes, peppers were just dumped on it.
I found the ravioli filled with figs to be very tasty, but my neighbor at the table judged them to be a bit too sweet. So it depends.
My highlight was the panna cotta with oat cream. However, that was after almost a bottle of wine. I probably would have indulged on anything at that point.
The wine is not labeled and not all of them are vegan. Better check for yourself. The service seems unbiased, but not well versed in vegan food.

We're going into Gioia, open conversation with the question 'Do you have vegan cakes today?'. We're asking for the vegan menu. Turning to the back of the seating area one can read white on black 'VEGAN' on the back of the clothes. Arrived at our selected place we get the menu. We're opening it and announce that we want to place or 1st of 2 vegan orders right away. We're browsing to the vegan menu, briefly browse through the dishes, and bump into a dish with truffles - plant-based? Yes. Vegan? No - because dogs are enslaved and drilled for retrieving truffles. So, we're skipping this, looking for a vegan dish, find one and order it.
Read moreWe're going on the toilet. After we come back, we see how a small basket was put to our place. After taking a seat we can take a closer look on it: 3 very small, ball-like, bread rolls, maybe two bites big, 2 normal ones, and 1 bread roll, which was completely black, and something which looks like compound butter. We're noting that we have a request by hand sign. 'Thank you for this small present. Could you tell us, what that black bread roll is?' Turns out, it's like the normal ones - but dyed with cuttlefish ink.
We're pointing out, that's unvegan and the compound butter probably also. We clarify that we are vegan and exclusively want vegan food, place orders in accordance to that and while saying that turn our back a bit to the person, so that he can read it: 'VEGAN' - white on black.
'I can take the black bread roll out of the basket and you can eat the others'.
'Sorry, not interested, because of cross contamination and because the bread rolls are too dry lacking something like compound butter, because the one here is unvegan, too.' Followed by that he's taking up the complete basket and compound butter and going back. A very short time later he comes back with a new basket containing 3 normal bread rolls, all freshly baked, and suggests us to use the olive oil on the table. We're thanking him and agree.

Tolle leckere vegane Optionen - Edit
Das italienische Restaurant hat eine separate vegane Karte mit einer breiten Auswahl an Vor- und Hauptspeisen sowie Nachtisch. Preislich eher im gehobenen Bereich, was bei manchen Gerichten nachvollziehbar ist, bei anderen weniger.

Welcomed by Italian hospitality and a large vegan and delicious menu, you can have a wonderful evening here. It's a great place to eat with the whole family and omnivores too. As the restaurant is also very busy during the week, a reservation is highly recommended.
