Serves meat, vegan options available. The English menu says 'please tell us if you are vegetarian and we can make vegetarian dishes for you'. Yachae gimbap (vegetable gimbap) can be made vegan by omitting egg and mayo. Gimbap is made in the front of the restaurant so you can see what is going in it and some staff check each ingredient with you before adding. Bibimbap can be made vegan by omitting meat or egg. Side dishes may not be vegan (e.g. kimchi). Open Mon 11:00pm-12:00am, Tue 12:00am-8:00am, Wed-Sun 12:00am-12:00am. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - never closes.

Cannot accommodate vegan/vegetarian - Edit
I do not recommend going there if you're vegetarian or vegan. I took the time to check with the staff that they could do vegan dishes before sitting down, and explained in detail what it entails. Despite my efforts, they served me a soup containing fish. When I asked them what the suspicious food was, they had no problem telling me it was fish, even though they agreed a minute before not to give me fish. They even made me pay for the dish. Gross.

Need to be very explicit! - Edit
Place is very convenient, especially since it is open 24 hours. HOWEVER, I ordered a vegetable gimbap with no egg or mayo and received one with ham in it (albeit no egg or mayo) - so you need to clearly spell out what you can and cannot have to them.

Bibimguksu - Edit
Bibimguksu (cold noodles with gochujang) is vegan, too. Beware of the banchan, the soup smells fishy. Luckily I had someone with me who ate it.

Meh - Edit
Ordered vegetarian bibimbap, not very exciting tastes. Staff seemed disinterested and distant, could barely ask further what the soup side dish had in it. Decent price however and something to eat at the end of the day

Nice Gimbap for a snack - Edit
It was easy to order a vegan gimbap, I explained in Korean that I do not want eggs, mayo, or sausage in it. I ordered more than two, and one had egg in it though; the other two were vegan.

Nice place - Edit
It is very hard to find vegan food in Sokcho, so finding this option on HappyCow and finally eating after struggling in the city was really nice. Apparently everything there is in korean, so I asked for the english menu and after ordering "bibimbap with vegetables", I used the Papago app to make it clear that I needed it without meat, eggs and mayo. Food is nice, main course is light while the side dishes have strong Korean seasoning. Bibimbap was 6,500 and gimbap 3,500 (September 2022). They don't exactly work 24/7. When I arrived there (14:30), there was a sign saying they were preparing food and would open at 15:00. Also, one lady there told me that their working time is: from Monday 11pm to Tuesday 8am, and open full time on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ah, if you are coming from the bus terminal to the restaurant, there is a huge local market with plenty of fruits on the way.

Vegan options but rather plain (needs That kimchee)! - Edit
Great place if you’re looking for a vegan/ vegetarian meal- however the taste was a little … lacking . Great for a basic, simple meal

A welcome veg-friendly place in Sokcho - Edit
This place came up on my Papago as 'Gimbap Heaven'. In a city that's not easy to navigate as a vegetarian or vegan, this place was a great find. Prices are very reasonable, they have an English menu and while the owner's English isn't great he seemed to have a good sense of what we were likely to be able to eat, double-checking with us whether we could eat egg when I asked him whether the bibimbap had meat, and passing on the anchovy side on our table. The bibimbap was super tasty; the gimbap clean but not quite so tasty. But having really struggled with dinner the night before, this was a very welcome find. Would def recommend.

Fresh yummy 김밥 - Edit
I had just arrived in Sokcho & needed something quick to fuel myself before hiking Mt. Seoraksan. Came here & ordered two rolls of 야채 김밥 as well as one to-go for after my hike. All in all I believe I spent about 6,000 won for three rolls. I was told the complimentary broth, pickled radish & kimchi were free of animal products.

The hot stone bimibap was delicious! Made vegetation by saying "no gogi" and making an X with my fingers. Amazing taste and great quality! Try the gimbap also!

Friendly, affordable, vegan options - Edit
This place was so handy, in a town with few vegan options. The staff are helpful, although speak little English, but we showed them a note in Korean explaining what we didn't eat and they made us vegan gimbap and Bibimbap. The gimbap is made in the front of the restaurant so you can see what they are putting in it and one member of staff checked each ingredient with us before adding.
Read moreThe prices are affordable (5,500 won for Bibimbap, 3,000 won for gimbap). You can get take out and because it's open 24/7 we were able to go in early in the morning to buy takeaway gimbap as a packed lunch for a day of hiking.
