Great food, lovely people

This nice family-run restaurant consists of a good mix of authenticity and modern vibes. The food is amazing (just pick the vegetarian/vegan mix with Shuro) and all the spices are brought over from Eritrea.
The food is served on a big plate so you can share.

If you're lucky (and like coffee), you can catch the traditional ritual of roasting the coffee performed by the mother of the family. The coffee has a secret ingredient which gives it a nice edge.

You should visit!

Pros: Excellent food, Lovely staff, Nice vibe

Good food, friendly staff

They have some vegan options and we tried the vegan mix. Everything was good and tasty, helpful staff. You eat with your hands and the injera bread, like in other ethiopian restaurants. Nice atmosphere!

Pros: Tasty, Fair price, Helpful staff

Authentic good food and great service

Very good Eritrean food, a lot of vegan options incl desert. The injera is really good too. The pumpkin stew is recommended. We also had a mixed vegan dish with 5 different mostly lentil and chickpea stew. And injera of course. The people working here are very friendly. And very affordable!

Super friendly staff

Oh, I love this restaurant. They serve vegan options and handle it with grate care!!
You should really try one of the African beers they serve.
And the food is just... nom..

I ate here with my brother, whom preferred some meat, and the waiter asked if I wanted a different plate or if I was okay with sharing a plate if they divided the food.

Pros: Super delicious food, Eating with hands (yazz!!), Very friendly staff

Lovely food and overall experience

The staff is very kind and social. The restaurant looks tidy and 'gezellig'. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes to choose from. Everything is supposed to be eaten by hand, but no worries! A hand washing service is provided both before and after your meal. Me and my boyfriend shared the vegan special and an okra dish. Half of the food I absolutely loved and the other half I didn't find too interesting. However, this is just my personal preference - everything was of good quality. I highly recommend everyone to try this place at least once, because it is so different from other restaurants.

Pros: Many vegan/vegetarian options. Great atmosphere. G

Cons: Location could be better.

Very satisfying experience

Our first time eating African food. It was tasty and fun eating with our hands! The food was created with love and care. There are enough vegan options on the menu. Very nice atmosphere and friendly stuff. They even organized extra coffee ceremony for us even though that was not on the schedule! Thank you guys!

Great experience

A little out-of-ordinary experience, but highly recommended. We were a party of two (vegan vegetarian ) and had the vegan mix and the first veg menu item, which was great. Every vegetarian dish can be made vegan on request . Will def. come back here some time.

Pros: friendly staff , reasonably priced, great food, number of vegan options

Cons: next to coffeeshop

Many vegetarian dishes in a friendly atmosphere

Although Eritreans are not fully vegetarian, it is a significant component in their cuisine. This can also be seen in Gezana's menu: half of it is vegetarian, and they have vegan options. Because we can select from 8-10 vegetarian dishes, this restaurant is one of our few serious restaurants in the city besides the full vegetarian ones.
In fact, "dishes" is not the right word. You will get an injera to eat from and with. It is accompanied by the hand washing ritual which completes the experience.

Pros: Friendlyness of staff, Space, low noise and atmosphere, Low price of dishes

Cons: You may be misconceived by the shops next to it
