Very nice place with super friendly and attentive staff. It really is an experience to eat here, especially if you’re with people who are not familiar with Eritrean food / culture yet.
Read moreI always order the vegan plate that they mix and match, which is tasty and filling enough (although when they bring it you think it will never fill you up). So would recommend this option. And I’d also recommend the (sweet) banana beer that is served out of a coconut.
Highly recommend this place! For both small and larger groups. Be sure to reserve a spot on busy days (weekends).

Amazing vegan food! Really an experience, since you eat with your hands. They wash your hands at your table before and after the meal. They offer several vegan dishes and desserts, also the Eritrean coffee is amazing, would recommend! The staff are most friendly, always a nice vibe!

Read moreThe portion was good, even for the big eaters among us. I simply shared two vegan dishes (clearly marked on the menu) with a friend on one plate.
The only point we had was the long waiting time for our food (45 minutes).
We wouldn't definitely come back here.

Service was very friendly. I really like that they come by the table to bring soap and water to wash hands before and after dinner. It makes for a fresh and clean start and end to your dinner experience. This should be mandatory for any restaurant where you eat with your hands (or at least offer automated water taps to wash your hands without contaminating them again by touching the taps and door handles). So definitely a lot of plusses in the service department.
Read moreThen the food: vegan options are clearly marked and there is a lot of choice. I had the Vegan Mix - Bebiaynetu. The food is very coarsly cut. I really don't like that for the spinach for my Hamli. I don't like the texture and it's not very easy to eat because it gets all tangled up. The biggest problem is with the pumpkin for the Duba and potatoes for the Alicha: there was a big variation in tenderness, with some pieces bordering on still begin raw.
The atmosphere is quite cozy, despite this being a pretty big restaurant. I really like it when you can settle down in a secluded corner and relax your food in relative privacy.
The service, atmosphere and large selection of vegan options upgrade the 3-star food to a 4-star experience.

Laatst voor het eerst gegeten en mix van van alles besteld. Het was voor mij de eerste keer Eritrees eten. Alleen een hoofdgerecht besteld en zaten bomvol. Niet eens alles op kunnen eten, maar wel proberen ervoor te strijden omdat het zo lekker was. En dan ook nog eens betaalbaar.

Omdat ik niet eerder 'Eritrean' gegeten had, was de hele sfeer nieuw voor me. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en het hele systeem werd duidelijk uitgelegd. Mijn partner koos voor vlees, maar ik kon prima veganistisch eten. Smaakvol en ruime porties. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Had dinner here tonight with my non-vegan friends who ordered the meat dishes for sharing. I had a selection of 4 vegan dishes that included pumpkin, lentils, potatoes, spinach, etc. Everything tasted great and was not too spicy. I also really liked the flatbread you use to eat with. Large portions (I could not finish all the food because it was too much for me) at low prices (16 euros for my vegan dish). Will definitely go back.

It was a delight after a long busy day. Lots of vegan options, as well as meat dishes. Very friendly staff kindly explained everything about the dishes and traditions and anwered all of our questions. Be prepared for a hand washing ritual and eating using your fingers.

THE BEST PLACE EVER - Edit
This is probably the best restaurant I ever visited. The atmosphere is great, the staff is SUPER nice and of course the food is extremely tasty. Just awesome. All the vegan and vegetarian places were closed so we decided to go there. And it was the best choice ever. They have special vegan menu so it’s really vegan-friendly. The unique way of serving the food – really nice experience. The prices are also quite low. So if you think about going to this place – just GO!

You feel welcome here. But take your time Because staff does the same. If you have the possibility to book in advance, ask for a table in the authentic part of the restaurant. You sit on benches and is so much more comfortable then eating from a high table When eating by hand.

Read moreSunday evening two mates and I spontaneously decided to finally come to this restaurant. And we were really happy we went! The place is really cosy with nicely dimmed lighting and nicely organized tables and decorations.
The food was really tasty and the menu gave clear information about for vegan/vegetarian options. We were two vegans and one meat eater. The staff made sure that the three of us could share the dish (one big plate for all) without us vegans getting into contact with the meat ;-), really considerate and friendly. I'm sad I can't give 5 stars. I prefer an inclusive restaurant where non-vegetarians can get exposed to vegetarian meals in a non-aggressive way like was the case here. No pressure on our friend to go vegetarian or vegan.

I like the support for full veg-restaurants but it's a bit harsh to not be able to give 5 stars to some great projects like this one.
