Delicious vegan gelato with 10 flavors! Loved bacio and coconut! Plus vegan cones too. The location has seating on the pedestrian street. Fun location to enjoy the city. We highly recommend!

So many choices. Loved the pistachio, and the dark chocolate. The best pistachio gelato I’ve had yet in Italy. Knowledgeable about vegan options and ingredients. I liked that they use rice milk rather than just oil like some gelato places. Some flavours had stevia instead of sugar.

Very good vegan ice cream. There are around 10 different flavors, including creamy ones. I had pistachio, bacio, and chocolate. Also, the pistachio sauce is vegan (really good), and they have vegan cones as well.

There was no chocolate or hazelnut flavor as I had read here but I had the amalfi which was very good ! And the staff was friendly and knew which flavors were vegan immediately.

Ordered the Bacia flavor and it took me back to when I studied in Italy 20 years ago (and could eat dairy gelato!) So delicious and was right across the street from my lunch stop so it worked out perfectly.

They have some flavours naturally vegan (like fruit flavours and dark chocolate) and some flavours veganized using rice milk instead of usual cow milk (like hazelnut). They have also good granita (my husband had almond granita). The gelato is really creamy and tasty

Came here right before dinner and got the small cup with hazelnut and almond. The texture was unbelievable! So thick and creamy. The flavors were also powerful and fresh tasting. Wish I could’ve tried more flavors. Highly recommend

Out of gelato in August?!! - Edit
I live in Central Sicily and visit Palermo every 2 months or so. I am here often enough that the ice cream team recognizes me when I come in. I was here in April & June and they had approximately 10 vegan flavors if you include the fruit sorbet flavors. The gelato is creamy & delicious and I’m a big fan of the pistachio & coconut. I came to get my haircut at a vegan salon and decided to spend the night. It is mid August and is the hottest, most humid time of year. The perfect time for gelato. I walked past literally a dozen gelato shops because I love to support places that make an effort. And they were out of all but 2 flavors. I am very disappointed in them. My suggestion- have a back-up plan! If they valued their vegan customers as much as their dairy customers, they would have earned a 5!

About 8 vegan options - Edit
Loved the options. I love pistachio ice cream and haven’t had it in years before this trip as it’s never a vegan option. So this was a real treat. I like that they don’t use sugar but for me it gave a slightly different taste. One I don’t love. But that is just a personal preference. It meant I let my toddler try is with less guilt 😅 also I had pistachio ice cream the night before at haiku and that was so amazing I was directly comparing.

I absolutely loved Al Cassaro! They’ve got more vegan ice-cream options than other places, but I could only opt for three, so I went for almond, pistachio and extra dark chocolate, and I couldn’t have been happier. Other flavours I would’ve loved to try: coconut, hazelnut, mango and coffee. I highly recommend it, but remember to specify that you’re ordering the vegan flavours.

I was blown away by the choice of vegan gelato. It was so yummy. I would recommend the pistachio abs mango flavours. It’s a little expensive but all gelato in Palermo is. Would 100% recommend as you can keep going back to try all the flavours. From memory they have about seven vegan options!

I tried the pistachio and hazelnut vegan ice creams and they were sooooo good! Super creamy, flavorful and 2,5€ only for a medium sized cup. Vegan cornets were also available.
