Vegan sushi - Edit
Clearly marked vegan options almost a whole page. Staff even asked to make sure it was vegan for me. The rolls were good. Would return

Some of the Best Vegan Sushi - Edit
Really happy with the selection of vegan and vegetarian sushi options here at Geisha.
Read moreMy friend and I split our order with a couple of vegan sushi rolls, their seaweed salad, and the vegetable tempura. Everything was clearly marked as vegan which was very nice and helpful. I absolutely loved the South Gate ($8.50) which had creamy avocado, tomatoes, burdock, and spicy mayo to name a few. The roll definitely had a slight kick to it! I was also a fan of Tigger, Too ($8.50) which was tempeh/baked tofu with macadamia nuts, negi, and kind oyster mushrooms.
Our meal also started with a complimentary bowl of miso soup to kick things off on the right track. The vegetable tempura was also very nice - lightly battered and generous slices of each vegetable that they included.
Pros: Entire vegan sushi menu, Beautiful decor

Decent - Edit
The pricing is off. Turned out about $3 more for the meal 16 v 19. The sushi was interesting and tasty, but not mind blowing and not at all cheap. $20 for a snack. Guy at the register was somewhat rude but not terrible. I’ll go somewhere else next time. If you have a sushi craving it works!!

Great Vegan/Veg options (sushi roll and more!) - Edit
Was traveling up to NorCal and haven’t had sushi really since I have become vegan 2 years ago. I came here and there was a ton of options. We sat at the sushi bar. I had a goblin roll plus the garden something roll. All options I am sure are delicious. Can’t wait to come back!!

Creative Vegan Sushi - Edit
Plenty of vegan sushi options, with unusual flavors that somehow work out really well. For example, peeled marinated red peppers make for great fish-like texture. Also: Japanese yellow curry on a sushi roll - an obvious combo in hindsight, but it was the first time we had it.

Simply the best vegan sushi. - Edit
5 stars! Dozens of vegan rolls. Creative and tasty. Ask for the “burning love roll” (not on the menu).

Vegan Delights - Edit
I was surprised at the variety and quality of their vegan sushi rolls (I counted 15 different varieties, and probably missed some).
Read moreI had the Emerald City and the Spice Home rolls, and was delighted by them both. They were beautifully and artistically made and super tasty. If this place was in Manhattan, they could charge double or triple the prices (because they are so creative and unusual).
I will definitely be back, and will recommend this place to my vegan/vegetarian friends. Score!
Pros: tasty, artistic, reasonably priced

Interesting rolls - Edit
We went to Geisha the other night. Good atmosphere/ambiance. All menu items are clearly marked with a fairly extensive vegetarian section. The waitress did say that the tempura fryer is shared with the shrimp. We had the temple monkey roll (cashew avocado pineapple) as well as another one with pickled burdock and jalapeño, cilantro, avocado and spicy mayo. Both were unconventional and honestly slightly disturbing, in an interesting way.

Very vegan friendly - Edit
Geisha is a cute upstairs restaurant in Capitola Village. It's bright and open and comfortable. The menu denotes which items are vegan and the staff is very friendly and helpful. On my last visit I was happy to learn that all of their miso soup is vegan now - they used to serve two versions - one vegan and one not. Now you don't have to remember to ask. The food is delicious and there are many choices to pick from.
