Cozy, romantic, vegan options - Edit
The balayag tlengis vegan is a delicious French take on a karangasem specialty. Tlengis are banana leaf-wrapped sticks of seasoned coconut and veg. We always go back for that and the vibes. The little huts in the garden are called galanga, they are cozy and private, reserve one in advance if you want to be sure. The appetizers are ok but not mind-blowing. Sorbets are good, soursop is our favorite, and the guava ice cream is good if available. We like the kolak (a sweet soup) and have ordered it with guava ice cream, which was delicious, because we wanted to make a more substantial vegan dessert.
Read moreA place like this has a lot of potential but it seems more thought was put into just a few menu items, less in others. With some menu tweaks there could be more and better vegan options.
Pros: A few delicious vegan options, Cozy jungle vibes, Good, efficient service
Cons: Servings can be small, overpriced, Not enough vegan choices, Especially desserts

Leckeres Essen in toller Atmosphäre - Edit
Das Jackfruitcurry war sehr gut, die Rotis waren etwas fettig. Aber auch die Pasta war traumhaft. Man bekommt auch einen veganen Gruß aus der Küche und sitzt sehr gemütlich in den Bambushütten. Man muss unbedingt reservieren, sogar mittags.

We prefer Rimba Cafe - Edit
Were at the Rimba Cafe (same owner) so we wanted to try Galanga too.
Read moreA lot of vegan options, not the cheapest but okay. Nothing completely special but a bit off the mainstream.
Everything we got was fine and of good size.
We reserved a table around noon.
When we got there at 5 they assigned us to a table in the main "house", we asked if we could get one of the small houses, but they told us they are all reserved at 6, a few minutes later we overhead a waitress tell another customer, the small houses are all reserved at 6:30.
When we left at 6:45, still one house was free.
Also our son got sick the next morning and honestly we suspect the Galanga, as this was the only food we did not share that day...
Pros: Jungle vibes, Good food
Cons: Can't trust staff

Amed's gem - Edit
This restaurant is run by a french woman and her Indonesian husband who offer a mix out of local and western dishes. This place offers a beautiful seating area and you get greeted by a healthy welcome shot out of tumeric, ginger, etc. I wanted to eat something I haven't ever had before so I ordered the Belayag Tlengis which is also one of the chef's recommendations. It's a dish out of tempeh, potatoes, beans and many other unknown to me ingredients. When I ordered I had basically no idea what I ordered but after I took only one bite of that dish I knew I had no regrets. Everything tasted amazing and was an explosion of taste. This is definitely my favorite dish from Indonesia.

The food was incredible. They have daily specials, of which the vegan ramen was the best we had in SE asia so far. The staff is super friendly. We will come again as long as we stay in Amed. Thank you!

Intimate gazebos - Edit
We had a nice experience here and left with full bellies. The portions were big, served with three sambal sauces. They also have vegan sorbet ice cream. We enjoyed especially the Banana blossom curry. The Nangka curry with jackfruit was nice too.
Read moreSome dishes could be easily veganized, but we were told the pasta was not vegan (which is pity and perhaps not even true).
You can call the personal with a bell, which is very convenient if you seek some intimacy for romanting dining.

All the food is made fresh with local spices and expert care. The jackfruit curry was exquisite. Vegan gyozas were to die for and my kids loved their pesto pasta and rice paper rolls.

Great Food! - Edit
This food is straight from heaven! I’ve been eating a lot in Bali but this one was just the bomb! I could feel my tastebuds tingle! Unfortunately the service is so damn slow we lost half of a day! It seriously took ages and we waited for over 45 minutes to get some food. The food was great though!

Vegan options limited but delicious - Edit
I was welcomed with a jamu drink. Very cozy place. Peaceful & quiet music in the background. Very few vegan options (one appetizer, one main, on dessert) but delicious. I had the jackfruit curry, served with pumpkin soup, tomato slices and a choice of coconut rice. Serving is generous.

Should not be on app - Edit
This place shouldn’t be on here any more than every other restaurant in Bali. Yes, the three vegan items are clearly marked, but there is only one appetizer, one entree, and sorbet that are vegan. Hardly enough options to justify being on this app. The goyza and jackfruit curry were both really good, but I felt like I got tricked into coming here.

Good food but few vegan options - Edit
The place was in a cozy and in a relatively calm setting. Vegan options were clearly marked.
Read moreThere were just 3 vegan options if I recall correct. 1 starter which was a gyoza which was good. 1 main which was the jackfruit curry. I liked the curry for the most part. It also came with some nice sides like pumpkin soup and some kind of thick and chunky curry sauce. There were vegan desserts in the form of sorbees but i was too full to try them.
Unfortunately the vegetarian options weren't possible to get in a vegan style.
Pros: Cozy
Cons: Too few vegan options
