full of seasonal fruits!

Futaba Fruits Parlor Kawasaki is located on the 4th floor of the station building Atre Kawasaki.

They serve vegan curry, vegan chilli con carne with rice, fruit sandwich, fruit salad and two vegan cakes, which are all clearly labelled as vegan on the menu.

They also have a variety of fruit parfaits and Japanese anmitsu deserts, and if you pay extra 110 yen, they will change soft cream / fresh cream to vegan ice cream / soy cream for you.

Cute restaurant inside Kawasaki Station

Has a nice, bright atmosphere. Menu has vegan food labelled and a lot of dessert options. I had the vegetable rice gratin plate and the soy cream tiramisu. The portion of the gratin plate was a good size.

Pros: Good portion size, Vegan labeling, nice atmosphere

Cons: Is not entirely vegan

Good price good food

The food was very nice and the menu shows clearly what is vegan. I found many places vegan in Japan expensive but here the prices were great! I will definitely go back to try another dishes!

Pros: Good prices, Near form the station

Decent food, amazing desserts and coffee designs

They currently have three vegan savory food options-avocado sandwich, curry, and taco rice. They also have a sweet sandwich with whipped cream that's vegan, as well as two fruit salads, both with non-vegan dressing- I didn't speak to the staff to see if the dressing could be removed to make the salad vegan.

The curry was mild enough for a child to enjoy. The sandwich and taco rice are a bit overpowering for me with the amount of eggless mayonnaise they both contain. I prefer the sandwich with the vegan mayonnaise removed. The mustard is strong, but it's more palatable to me with just the mustard rather than both mustard and mayonnaise. The shop has their own vegan bread made (containing almond milk).

The desserts are where this restaurant shines. They have menu pages of desserts that either are already vegan or can be made vegan for 100 yen extra (to substitute soy ice cream for dairy ice cream in the parfaits). They also have seasonal desserts with plenty of vegan options.

When taking the order, the staff generally checks if we had allergies or were vegan.

I've tried seasonal specials- the baked apple with plenty of non-dairy whipped cream and a tiramisu with candied sweet potatoes and stewed apples, and the apple pie with whipped "cream." Off the non-seasonal menu, I've also had a piece of chocolate cake and a berry, banana and chocolate parfait, but the staff added cranberries in fall, which gave it an autumnal feel. The soy lattes came with so much foam and when the guy who's in charge of the shop is in, he makes cute designs on them- I actually double checked to make sure they weren't using dairy foam for the designs, which they aren't, as it's difficult to make design lattes with soymilk.

I think the parfaits here are the standout menu item.

Will definitely go back for the amazing desserts and coffee!

Nice little cafe/parlor in Kawasaki Station

Futaba Fruits Parlor is a restaurant situated in the mall at Kawasaki Station. They serve both vegan and non-vegan options. They also have a few gluten-free options! I have been there twice and was happy both times.

The first time I went, I got the vegan sandwich and the banana choco parfait with soy ice cream😉I'm not a tomato person, but I could actually eat it in the sandwich! I think for the second half I took the tomato out though haha.
The banana choco parfait was delicious. I mean come on, who doesn't like bananas and chocolate??

The second time I went I got a seasonal special peach and plum pancake! The pancake itself was an ordinary pancake, but it was topped with delicious fresh fruits (plum and peach, as mentioned) and came with a delicious sauce. Pretty sure it was peach but it was a while ago so I forgot. Very sweet but very yummy! I will come again when I'm in the area :)

Pros: Good food!

Cons: A bit crowded during certain hours

AMAZING desserts!

English below👇 JR

Do you like cakes and parfaits piled high with fruit and whipped cream? If so, run, don’t walk, to Futaba Fruits Parlor. They have locations in Shinjuku and in Yamaguchi prefecture, but we went to the one on the fourth floor of the Atré building located across from Kawasaki station.

The menu is easy to understand, with allergens clearly marked, but we asked the waitress just to be sure. Many of the desserts (cakes and tarts and whatnot) are vegan, and all of the parfaits can be veganized by swapping out regular ice cream for soy ice cream (costs 100 yen extra). As for savory items, the avocado sandwich, vegetable curry, and taco rice are vegan.

I asked the waitress which of the three was best, and she said the sandwich, so that’s what I got. Unfortunately I didn’t know that pickles and mustard, two ingredients of which I am not a fan, factor heavily into this dish. It was okay, but I wouldn’t order it again.

But the dessert more than made up for the lackluster main dish. The Choco Banana Parfait was amazing from start to finish. It seems a little expensive at 880 yen, but I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant seats 75, but it fills up. We went on a Sunday at around 1:30 PM and got one of the last remaining tables, but when we left at 2:30 there was a long line of people waiting to get in. Trust us. It’s worth the wait.

Pros: Desserts!!!!!!!, Friendly staff, Veg options/ allergens clearly marked

Cons: The savory dish I tried was not great, Place is popular so you may have to wait
