Wow wow wee wow - Edit
We wanted a take away meal that wasn’t fast food, and this place was just divine! The vegan options were many and the flavours of our dishes were so impressive! The staff were super helpful and friendly. We’ve just moved to Hastings and already know this will be one of our most visited restaurants. I’d give 5 stars if I could!

We had the battered cauliflower, Kumara dumplings and satay tofu bao buns. All delish!
Service was a bit slow but perhaps coz they were crazy busy!

Went with the recommendation of 2 Bao buns and 3 share plates between two people, all the food was so good and the cocktails in the teapots are delicious!

Great restaurant. Ask for the vegan menu, but I wonder if anything on the main menu can be veganised. I had the satay fried tofu Bao bun which was great, and the Szechuan fried cauliflower which was good. Very friendly staff.

Really liked Funbuns- great location, the decor was well themed and you can dine inside or out. Lots of vegan options and the food is tasty. Gutted they didn't have the cauliflower when we went- apparently it is so popular they can't keep up. Spoke to the manager (owner?) and he was informed about veganism and supportive. I will def go back when next in Hastings.

Funbuns is great. The service is friendly. Great atmosphere in the place. The cocktails are great and good beer is available too. The food is creative and delicious. Definitely try the kiwi onion dip fries. They make their own onion mix and the sour cream part is made from tofu. Kung pow cauliflower is amazing too.
