Delicious food but horrible smell. - Edit
4 starts because I can’t fault the food here, it is delicious! However when I visited there was a rancid smell both inside and outside. It turned out to be burning coffee grains outside to try and deter wasps. I went to sit outside to see if that was better but it was very smoky as that’s where the burning was happening! If I had known I wouldn’t have ordered takeaway but did not realise until already sat down and ordered. I had to eat very quickly and leave as soon as I finished as the smell was making me feel light headed and sick. If you are like me and sensitive to smells make sure you order take away instead if they are burning the coffee!

Some of the best vegan pastries I’ve had! - Edit
Really wonderful bakery and cafe with a wide selection of vegan pastries, I wish I could have gotten every one of them! Tried the croissants and tomato pastry which were absolutely divine.

Many variations of croissant - Edit
Great bakery with many variations of croissant. We had to wait quite long for drinks (coffee and orange juice) that's why we ate our croissants first and had coffee afterwards. I expected the filling of the pistachio croissant to be a bit sweeter as I was used to it from this one place in Italy.

Over ordered, no regrets - Edit
I did my usual when travelling and over ordered so that I didn’t miss out. The Savoury plate had something of everything. It was well priced, and I loved the food.

Staff a little unfriendly but nothing too bad.

Fantastic bakery - Edit
They were slicing up warm olive focaccia from the oven as we arrived - and it was the best focaccia I’ve ever had - bought extra for the plane home!! The coffee was great, and the avocado toast the best we found in Berlin

Beautiful and tasty - Edit
This bakery serves maybe the most beautiful french toas I have ever seen and it's really delicious too, but to be honest, the serving sizes are not quite big enough for my taste and the price. We also got a pistachio croissant that was flaky and buttery and some drinks and a soup. Everything was really good but the soup was the only gluten free option.

Pistachio Croissant! - Edit
We went to Frea’s for breakfast, between us tried the French toast, red velvet cake & the star of the show the pistachio croissant. Also had a flare white & latte. The vibe is great and the menu is grand. All the food was great but the pistachio croissant was hands down the best croissant I’ve ever consumed. This is a must visit while in Berlin.

Lovely! - Edit
All-vegan bakeries have to be one of my favourite things. I had a great olive-y pastry and a muffin-shaped pastry thing with vanilla filling and the pastry was flaky and perfect. Would return and would recommend!

Lovely café with delicious baked goods - Edit
Me and my wife came here for tea and cake and it was really lovely. It was a relaxed environment with a lovely decor, and they had a great range of pastries and cakes to choose from. They also do hot dishes but we didn't try those on this visit. We went for a hot cross bun, a pistachio cake and a pot of Earl Grey tea. The hot cross bun was soft, tasty and just really good! The pistachio cake was also delicious with a great texture and a taste that wasn't overly sweet. The tea was also really good loose leaf tea and the pot was just the right amount for 2 cups of tea.

Cardamom croissant = PERFECTION! - Edit
The only downside of FREA Bakery is that it is not in Lisbon where I live!! Jokes aside, they serve a lovely range of breads, pastries and breakfast / brunch / light meals with top notch quality. If you know they ethos and that they are zero waste on top of extremely delicious, then it’s even better. The prices aren’t the most affordable out there, but their products aren’t also run of the mill, so there you have it... I do think that for the price they could include table service, and not self-service. I appreciate their open kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing your food though. And my 5***** go out specially to the cardamom croissant, which is the most perfect pastry I have ever encountered - vegan or otherwise. I’ve eaten my weight in pastry many times over, and this croissant, for my personal taste, is just perrrrrfect! Like a regular croissant and a cardamom bun made love and had the cutest baby they could ever make. Perfectly flaky, pulls apart as it’s made of little segments that delicately detach themselves from the main pastry as you pull them away. With a little cardamom infused syrup that it’s just right, not at all overpowering and slightly caramelised, with a balanced level of sweetness. i would travel to Berlin just for the sake of this pastry - I think that says it all!
Read morePros: ALL VEGAN, Lots of sweet AND savoury options, Love that they’re low/zero waste
Cons: Pricey , No table service (would be ok if they were cheap)

Wow wow wow - very impressive Excellency! - Edit
Outstanding place for highest quality for lunch, snacks or just a coffee. You can sense the quality of the food, the service and the place itself.
Read moreWent there several times and it became one of my fav go to places in Berlin.
Food is on point freshly made and the bakery has some awesome snacks amd bread. Had the best Cappuccino in my Personal opinion. Also serving several savory rather small dishes.
It gives a good first taste what can be experienced within the Frea Restaurant near by which is classified with a Michelin Star.
The place itself is cozy modern and clean just how i like the places to be.
A must go to when humping around Berlin.
Frea - very impressive.
Try to come from Mo-Fr before 12 am amd you will be having a chill time with no stress and less noise.
The best thing about it - does not feel at all like a fully vegan place.

Normalizing Vegan Excellency - Edit
Since I love the concept of FREA and had an amazing experience there I'd been wanting to visit FREA Bakery ever since it opened. The other day I finally did to get some pastries to go.
Read moreThe place was somewhat big with indoor seating for around 35 people and outdoor seating as well. When I was there around noon the sun was shining and the people sitting outdoors seemed to be enjoying it to the fullest.
The interior design was bright and relaxed. There were cute wooden tables and chairs and turquoise as an accent color on sofas, lamps and paintings. I really liked the vibe.
After a short while in the line it was my turn to select pastries. I was excited since there were so many to choose from. In the end I picked a pain au chocolate, a spandauer with vanilla creme and a cinnamon bun. Altogether it cost around 10€. I only ate the spandauer with vanilla creme - and it was delicious.
What I loved about FREA Bakery was that it felt like a normal, high-quality cafe. I didn't see any signs or indications that everything was vegan, and it wasn't possible to tell from just looking at the pastries or the decoration. It was like getting a taste of what the future could be: the same as before, just without animal cruelty.
Don't get me wrong, I love the vibe of places like Alaska Bar as well - with animal rights messaging covering every inch of the walls - but we need places like FREA Bakery; places that are simply excellent, while also being vegan.
