Serves meat, vegan options available. A traditional country pub that serves fresh, in-house-made food, including vegan and gluten-free options. As of Feb 2015, the separate vegan menu has 4 starters, 9 main meals (including pizza with vegan cheese) and 3 desserts. Also has vegan margarine and soy milk. All allergens are clearly marked on the menu. Located between Reading and Caversham. Open Tue-Sat 12:00-14:30, Wed-Sat 18:00-23:00, Sun 12:00-16:00. Closed Mon.

Good vegan options in quirky pub

This is a really lovely pub with some great vegan options and they really understand dietary requirements.
Everything is made fresh to order and the pub itself is very quirky and fun.
It's not wheelchair accessible though as it's up stairs to get in and to go to the toilets.

Pros: Choices, Fresh food, Quirky interior

Cons: Takes a while for food to come as it's freshly coo, Menu doesn't change much

Great pub

Been here twice now and it is a great atmosphere, laid back with a massive selection of vegan options on the menu

Not what we expected...

Ordered from the lunchtime menu and there weren't that many vegan options. Food took quite a long time to come and one of our orders was wrong. Didn't have the opportunity to let them know as we weren't asked throughout or after how our meal was. A little disappointed.

Great vegan food

The landlords, Nick and Hazel, are most welcoming, and committed to making sure everyone they serve has a great experience. The vegan selection is massive, and the food is extremely tasty. They are also very careful to avoid cross-contamination in the kitchens. Highly recommended. Some items are a little on the pricey side, but still good value in my opinion.
