Healthy - Edit
The food is good. The presentation and surrounding are excellent. Even still, I wasn’t completely blown away by the limited choices. Worth a visit, but it’s probably not going to be one where you go to regularly. My partner’s main dish arrived 40mins after mine.

I loved flourish, from the homemade kombucha to the delicious big bowls of Japanese vegan food. A little pricey compared to other places in Taipei but delicious!

Vegan buttery sugary joy - Edit
Ordered the pineapple bun with iced butter only because we already had dinner. Oh my it's so good. The bun is soft and fluffy, crust is warm and crispy. Perfect match with the iced butter and sugar. Ooooh melt in your mouth goodness!

Disappointing taste, but at least very fresh ingredients - Edit
The food wasn't bad at all, it was just ... quite boring for the price you pay. It tasted more or less the same you usually get in Germany when you visit an average Korean/Japanese/Chinese-Crossover restaurant. - The tempeh summer rolls didn't harmony with the too sour chili-sauce. The bibimbab was too dry, thought the kimchi was quite good. - At least the overall taste was very fresh and light.
Read morePros: Fresh ingredients, nice interior (but most of the time quite crowded)
Cons: Boring taste

Flourishes for good reason - Edit
Another restaurant in Taipei that does what the name says: it flourishes! Flourish is a rather large restaurant with a lot of space and a lot of tables. The menu is available both in Chinese and English. It has single dishes as well as set menus. They serve everything from coffee with a light snack on the side to a full size dinner. Compared to "Plants" restaurant, the menu at "Flourish" is a bit more Chinese oriented. The waitresses were friendly and spoke a fair amount English.
Read moreI ordered the vegan mapo tofu: a traditional Asian dish of tofu in a spicy sauce (usually with bits of meat in the sauce, but at Flourish it's of course free of that). This set menu comes with brown rice, a salad (with very tasty dressing), mushrooms on the side and miso soup. Everything was done exactly the way it should be: the mapo tofu was reasonably spicy, the tastes of the side dishes nicely completed the entire meal and the miso soup made for a nice dessert.
For me, the meal at Flourish ticked all the boxes: great taste, variety, nice presentation, good quality ingredients, pleasant atmosphere. I wasn't the only one to appreciate the food: Flourish was busy and flourishes for good reason.
Pros: decent portion, great taste, fair price
Cons: mind the smell if you sit next to the kombucha

One of the best vegan places in Taipei - Edit

Read moreIn one of the smaller streets in the busy Da’an district, Flourish impresses when you first walk in with its modern, relaxing environment. The front of the shop uses an ample amount of big windows to allow natural light to fill the space, perfectly setting the tone for a healthy and delicious vegan meal.
After multiple trips to Taipei, Flourish remains one of my favorites. This all-vegan cafe serves a wide range of high quality comfort food. The dishes are mostly Chinese and Western styles, with other influences from Japan, Hong Kong and Korea.
The food here is impressive with great taste and presentation. Like the sweet and sour tofu with colorful veggies or the Japanese rice bowl with scrambled tofu, the food is as pretty as they taste. Some other highlights include coconut curry casserole which goes very well with their organic brown rice.
Another one of my favorites is the pineapple bun with vegan butter. Pineapple bun is a Hong Kong style bread that has a crust that looks like pineapple. The bun is from Yiihotang (which is a vegan bakery under the same company) and it is warm, soft and crisp. Inside is a slice of soft vegan butter. It is a vegan dessert that is hard to find and tastes absolutely delicious.
Other than this, the fruity sorbet/ice cream on brownie is also highly recommended.
Overall, Flourish is a fantastic vegan restaurant that will impress you with their food, service and atmosphere. Be sure to also visit Yiihotang vegan bakery which is right next door.
Pros: All vegan, Delicious food, Relaxing environment

Healthy and fancy food - Edit
Nicely decorated. Looks kinda fancy. Food is healthy and high quality. You'll get a small glass of Kombucha - i thought it was gross. Free water. Minimum charge per person, maximum time you can stay 90mins. They have set menus. Menu is in English (i've uploaded pics). I chose the curry set which came with a hot miso soup and a salad. Very fast service. I really liked the healthy rice. The curry should have been more salty in my opinion. Looked like quite fancy food to me.

Possibly best vegan restaurant in Taipei - Edit
Very fresh, high-quality ingredients. I almost always get the set. For the quality, the price is reasonable. Best vegan cake I’ve ever had (pineapple/coconut). Sad when they took their avocado rolls off the menu.

Trendy - Edit
This place takes pride in their bacteria! The second you walk in you will see a long row of kombucha jars. When you are seated you are given a [censored] of the fresh house made kombucha to start. If you REALLY like kombucha this will be your jam... If not you won't be the only one to take a sip make a pucker then leave your glass untouched for the rest of the meal so don't worry. Reasonable portion sizes let us satisfied and prices are affordable. The food was very enjoyable and the dessert is amazing and comes fresh from the cute little basket next door. LOVE!

Healthy and Tasty - Edit
Was here in June 2019. Saw this on happycow and stopped by to give it a try. Here's my review for Yuan He Shitang. The sign out front is in Chinese so look for the characters. The inside has a serene natural feel. The menu offers a good selection of healthy dishes and drinks. Food tasted wholesome. We got a set meal for two, which came with 2 mains, 2 small salads, brown rice, soup, drinks, and even 2 desserts. Would definitely return to try the other dishes.

Great food! No mock meat~ - Edit
The vegan cuisine without any mock meat of "Flourish" really surprised me. They made the tasteless vegetables so tasteful and they were very attractive. When I looked back the photos I took, really wanna go again. 😋

Great dessert! - Edit
Stumbled here by chance, and was excited to try this place. The vibes here are very positive and you can tell that they care about healthy food a lot - they had giant kombucha jars in plain site and the space was so beautiful and open.
Read moreUnfortunately I didn’t have time to sit down and have an actual meal, so I decided to try a dessert and was blown away. The dessert i got was a green tea cheesecake and it was just the right amount of sweet, had a wonderful texture, flavorful, and healthy. On the other hand it was a bit pricy, but well worth it. Wish I could have tried more from here, hopefully I can next time I am in Taiwan 🇹🇼
Pros: Beautiful energy, Healthy food
Cons: A bit pricy

Definitely different to the majority of other vegan options in Taipei. Interesting flavours, but a little strange having most of the mains served cold. Not what you expect.
