Nice Indian restaurant

We went on a Monday evening and it was completely empty apart from one other table! All the standard Indian curries you’d expect can be made vegan. The dhal was really nice, paratha slightly greasy. Overall a decent option if like us you found the place you wanted to go to was closed!

Delicious!!

We are visiting Hastings for the Half Marathon, and found this restaurant after a quick search on Happy Cow - we loved the fact that the vegan options are clearly labelled. When we phoned our order through, the staff member was very knowledgeable and happy to help. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty - lovely fresh flavours and no greasy after taste! The lemon rice went down a treat with the children as did the garlic mushrooms. The veg dhansak was also a highlight! For a family of five we thought the price was very reasonable too, but then we are used to London prices - happy vegans all round!!

Pros: Fresh and delicious curries, Lots of vegan options clearly labelled, Friendly and helpful staff

Cons: None

Vegan naan!

The only place in hastings where you can get a vegan naan! The takeaway food is always great and arrives correct and on time. One of the most expensive Indians but worth it as a treat

Pros: Vegan naan, Clearly marked menus , Tasty food

Cons: More expensive than most, Can be unexpectedly spicy

Delicious

Ordered takeaway with two omni family members. Particularly chose this restaurant because the menu clearly labels items as vegan but even so I am always a little wary and wanted to double check when making the order. The gentleman I spoke to was very friendly and happy to discuss the ingredients to which he was very knowledgable. The food came in good time and was delicious. Everyone was very happy. Just wish I was local so I could have this again.

Lovely food

The restaurant is large but because it's on different levels it still felt intimate. We went on a busy Saturday night but the service was still really good. They had a good selection for vegans and the menu is clearly marked. The vegetable biriyani was amazing and was traditionally baked.

Pros: Vegan food clearly marked, Vegetable Biriyani, good food all round

Disappointing

Although the menu clearly labels which foods are vegan, when I ordered a vegan thali, repeated what I wanted and my friend repeated again, they brought me a non-vegan one.
Also, the staff were rushing us a lot, coming to take our order when we were still checking the menu, trying to clear our plates whilst we were eating etc.
They kept coming to check on us, which was nice the first time, but when three different waiters did it during one course, it's a bit annoying. What annoyed me most was that they asked my male friend what we would like and asking him if everything was ok with both meals.
Otherwise the food I had was fine

Pros: Clearly labelled menu, Decor, Central location

Cons: Gave me non-vegan food, Smelt like incense , Staff were too keen

Really good food - would thoroughly recommend

I would thoroughly recommend Flavours of India - the food is of a very high standard and extremely tasty. I especially enjoy the vegan thali. Menu is very clearly labelled and I haven't had a bad experience with them.

Pros: really good food, large venue - suitable for large groups

EXCELLENT

My wife and I had a lovely meal at Flavours of India. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for. If you're really hungry try the vegan tahli. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The restaurant is popular and has a nice atmosphere.

Pros: excellent food, good value, friendly staff
