Good food but terrible service - Edit
Staff does not follow the order of the queue to seat customers. In the middle of the queue already which was quite short but the staff chose to seat customers from behind me first instead with the same number of pax (2). What kind of logic?

Vegan Orh Luak - Edit
I’ve never tried the non-plant based version of orh luak so I was curious to try the dish. For me it was nothing special, even quite bland. I didn’t try any other dish but there’s many clearly marked vegan dishes.

Super good vegan orh luak - Edit
Must recommend their vegan orh luak, super good, smell and taste almost like the real orh luak, very generous portion, it's double the size of other vegan orh luak out there, it is solid and very filling, really wish they could sell it at half the portion and half the price, then it's perfect, sure everyone will order 😋
Read moreTheir vegan mayonnaise seaweed fries is good too, the vegan mayonnaise tastes very flavourful, fries are salted and good, the king oyster mushroom katsu cutlet tastes normal, seasoned wakame salad and miso soup are good as well

Super busy place, the best vegan Or Luak - Edit
We had to wait in line for a while to get a seat as there are limited seats here due to social distancing, but the wait was worthwhile when we tasted the orh Luak!!! Wow, best one we've tried in Singapore. Our non-vegan friend was so surprised by the realistic rendition of this dish, that he couldn't believe it was vegan. And he eats orh Luak with egg and oysters so knows the comparison. So if you're going to come here, definitely order it!! We did find that the prices were quite high, though, but the serving portions are big so it balances out. Book ahead if you can, or if you don't mind waiting then go along for a meal without reserving a table. Our friend ordered the massive burger (can't remember the name of it now) and the best thing about his dish were the fries, they were cooked to perfection. I nearly ate all of his fries. Hahaha My husband got a set meal which we shared and there was plenty, the dish was with monkey head mushrooms and it was so yummy. Will come here again for the orh Luak!

Impressive Menu - Edit
Tried @flavoursbysaute having read rave reviews about their concept and plant based selection.
Read moreThe menu is indeed impressive with many selections.
Had a hard time choosing but we end up choosing handmade quinoa tofu patty burger (vegan), sambal fried rice with house-made nyonya otah (vegan) and their signature orh luak (with eggs).
I liked the quinoa tofu patty, there were edamame and carrots in it.
The otah didn't hit well with us as it was a tad too dry. Was expecting some soft and juicy version instead.
The orh luak was nice though if you are a meat eater you would miss the the distinct taste of oysters that the traditional dish would have. But the chilli sauce did a good job to enhance this vegetarian dish. They also have the vegan version which I might try in the future.
Pros: No frills dining, Local dishes reinvented
Cons: Slightly on the pricey side

Expect long waits on Lunar Calendar Days 1 & 15 - Edit
I have been here several times with different friends and they all enjoy the food from the variations available on the menu. My go-to dish is the Baked Laksa Lion Mane Pasta; yummy laksa flavour balanced with the baked cheese, is really very delicious! The service staff are often busy with something so it may take awhile for you to get their attention unless there is barely any customers.

Poor service! - Edit
Given 1 menu at the entrance although there were 4 of us. Was asked to order at the counter and make payment first. Ended up walking to and fro from the counter to reorder my food for around 4 times or so. The cashier had to inform me the items that were sold out, one at a time. Was initially asked whether I wanted cold or warm lemon tea for my set before being told that they were out of mushroom soup and can't give me set meal. I needed a menu to check and change my option but was not provided. Went to the entrance to change to another spaghetti set. Before being told that they were out of that. Went to check the menu outside again to change to burger set. Came back to the cashier and was told that they were out of curry. I had to change the other 2 sets that were on my order. He finally handed me a menu and I asked him directly on what was available and what wasn't. He was not able to reply on the spot. I went back to my family where we chose other things. To be told that one of the stone pot? Dish wasn't available. 3 to 4 other customers who were behind us ended up ordering first before I could order mine. THANKS A LOT FOR THE POOR SERVICE, FUNAN MALL BRANCH.

It’s really good that you can get some decent vegan options in Funan shopping centre. The food is decent but not amazing. The menu has a massive number of positions so I found it quite difficult to choose.

Alright for a snack while shopping - Edit
Some friends and I (2 of us vegan and 2 omnivores) split the truffle pizza and the margarita pizza. Not too bad! Crust was a little too thin and crispy for my taste, so if you like chewy crust this isn’t for you. The margarita pizza lacked flavor in our opinions, it could have used some oregano or something baked in. The lemon iced tea is perfectly sweetened and delicious. My friend’s root beer float wasn’t bad. It’s not a terrible place to stop at if you’re shopping at Funan mall. Food and drinks came out quickly.

Yummy food, even non-vegetarians can enjoy - Edit
This is my second time dining at the restaurant. They have a pretty wide selection of local and western vegetarian fare with vegan options. Some recommended dishes are the orh-luak, king platter (otah is good) and brownies with chocolate ice cream. Service is pleasant too.

Newly opened restaurant. Over 40 vegan options spanning many different types of food. I hide the kale quinoa salad and the vegan pesto and mushroom pasta. Both were ok, small-middle size portions but around $14 each. Good taste, so I would not mind coming back to try other items, if the price were better.
