Worth a trip - Edit
The food itself was excellent! The overall menu was too all over the place for a tapas/small plate theme…going from grandma’s meatballs to empanadas to wontons was a little much for the palate. The ambience was nice but there is a little bit of a pretentious/influencer vibe. Wine options left something to be desired. Definitely worth checking out for the food and creativity!

So unique and delicious! - Edit
First time here and it’s a must-hit for vegan food. Everything was fun and unique from the drinks to the food, and they have multiple mocktails, which Im a big fan of. We had the edamame wontons, which were delicious and the sauce on them was soooo good. We also had the pea & chickpea meatballs and the garlic & parsnip ravioli. I have a nut allergy and they were really accommodating, and many of the dishes with nuts just have them as a topping, so they can be done without easily. The service was great too- everyone was so nice.

Best in Philly - Edit
I don’t even know where to start - what an absolute gem! My first impression was how lovely the environment is. It’s chic, yet warm and inviting. The food! Oh the food! The menu is primarily tapas style, and every item is expertly crafted and prepared. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, too. Plus, it’s a local, family owned and operated. Fitz on 4th is my first stop every time I’m in Philadelphia.

Inventive & Delicious - Edit
I had two dishes - the shaved Brussels sprouts and a special - sourdough toast with morels, caramelized onions, and cashew ricotta. The sprouts were very tasty - a nice sweet/spicy combo. The mushroom toast was ridiculously good. Will be back.

Just go. This is the best there is in central Philly. - Edit
Everything was so delicious. We tried the Brussel Sprouts, Gnocci, Beets, Meatballs, Artichoke and spinach dip, and the fruit crisp. We are plant based and feared the food might be processed. But no. This is real food prepared with fresh ingredients. We had a great time getting to know our waitress and the owner came over too. This place is the real deal It is number one on our list of vegan perfection in this town. A meal we will never forget. Just go and try it You will love it. Oh and I loved the Nightbird martini!

Cool spot - Edit
We had a day in Philly and decided to come here for lunch at the last minute, so glad we did. I love seeing how vegan restaurants create Caesar salad (a dish that once made me think I could not go vegan). The one here was large and superior. My spouse kept stealing the croutons. We were thrilled to try vegan lobster salad, made of hearts of palm; we had never before had vegan lobster. I can never pass up crab cakes either. The sauces here are incredible. The restaurant has a subtle bird theme, and I loved the bathroom parrot wallpaper. I appreciated a full bar and enjoyed a dry rose on a hot day. Parking can be tricky, but we were lucky. I love when the bar has hooks for your bag so you don't have to put it on the floor. There is a bright front area and a cozy darker back area. They say tapas style and to order up to 6 dishes for 2 people, but we found the portions generous and were full after 4. Fancy WFPB-ish cuisine in an upscale yet still casual atmosphere. Friendly service.

This was my second time at the restaurant & I loved it just as much as the first time! The food was amazing and I loved seeming new items from last time. All of the staff were so nice. The meatballs & rigatoni was insane and the focaccia and butter howl was to die for😭

Almost perfection - Edit
The place is adorable and makes you feel so fancy.
Read moreMocktails were amazing! I had a fresh-squeezed carrot juice with dinner that was super lovely.
But, I have to say, the food is really hit or miss.
The mushroom sliders = phenomenal. 10/10. I'd go back for those ASAP.
The mushroom flatbread = doughy and undercooked. Skip.
One of the standout dishes was the "local" special vegetable on the vegan ricotta. I was surprised at how elegant such a simple dish was. I'd get that again.
Meatballs were a verbatim regular old meatball actually tasted like. I would say skip unless you really need some nostalgia.
The raw-vegan brownie was interesting. French press coffee was nice.
I'd go back and try some other things on the menu.
Pros: Super adorable inside, Interesting, completely vegan menu options , Great drinks (with and without alcohol)
Cons: Not good for large groups, Some dishes were lackluster

We really enjoyed Fitz on 4th. First, they are 100% vegan/ plant based, which makes ordering so easy! After reading some of the below negative reviews, we almost didn’t come, but I am glad we did! We found the food to be very flavorful, and the waitress was super nice and friendly. The nona’s meatballs were delicious! The focaccia that came with it was too! We tried a number of small plates and really enjoyed our meal. We felt the tapas options were fairly priced. We will definitely come again next time we are in town.

Amazing food, fun atmosphere, and incredible service!! - Edit
Every dish had its own unique flavors. The meatballs, kebbeh, and sliders were our favorites. Order multiple dishes for sharing to get a taste of everything. Things came out as they were ready so we could add more dishes over time instead of ordering all at once. Great service and fun atmosphere! Even the coffee was delicious.

Fantastic and tasty! - Edit
Super yummy, and attentive and nice staff. We had a family dinner here with many dishes. My favorites were the crabcakes, which were crispy with a yummy spice, and the cream sauce was excellent; the mushroom pasta, which was rich and creamy, and yummy; and the focaccia, which was crunchy and faintly tasted of rosemary. I had the gin, cucumber, basil drink, which was also yummy. It was comfortable and the folks were really nice. I recommend it.

Not great - Edit
We didn’t think the food was great (avocado toast tasted bitter, fries were undercooked). Service wasn’t great either, they started vacuuming the place and putting chairs on tables while we were still eating. If you want to clean up and close at a certain time, maybe you shouldn’t accept reservations just before closing time. It’s a shame because the place looks great and is on a nice street.

Went here with my omnivore family and everyone was satisfied. Their special was a mushroom slider and was by far the best item on the menu that day. Super flavorful. The rest was average. Nachos were soggy and some of the other tapas could have packed more flavor. Great cocktails and mocktails!

Trainwreck...ok the staff were nice - Edit
I was excited to learn that there was a new vegan restaurant walking distance from my home.
Read moreWe ordered 5 dishes. While the server noted that food would be brought out as ready, we did not expect to receive all 5 dishes at exactly the same time. Even a marginally coursed experience would have been much better - especially for a restaurant that claims to serve tapas.
All of the food was, at best, underseasoned and, at worst, not edible. Of the latter was the ricotta and “focaccia.” Focaccia is in quotations because while it was actually some kind of bread, it tasted old and then toasted. The “ricotta” was a scoop of cold cashew butter coated in agave syrup. I took one bite before deciding it wasn’t worth the energy it took to chew it.
The mushroom pasta dish…let’s just say, if you have an entire pasta section on the menu, I don't automatically expect it to be homemade, but ridged squiggle macaroni isn't exactly distinguished in way that doesn't scream boxed Barilla. Too much sage, salt is absent, a couple mushrooms, but plenty of dollars.
The salad was fine. Underseasoned (huge surprise there) and just a handful of mixed greens, which is just a slap, especially at that price point. I know a salad is a salad but this really was just mixed greens, a couple slices of raw radish and some plain ass lentils.
The “fries” were also a victim of the salt fairy's neglect and the homemade tomato ketchup tasted as if it were poured from a can of crushed tomatoes right into a ramiken.
And lastly, the crab cake was soft, soggy fried bread crumbs swimming in mayonnaise and the “slaw” was diced raw red bell pepper and corn with, again, no detectable seasoning whatsoever.
Here's the thing, this is all unfortunate but it isn't that big of a deal. Had a bad dinner- move on with your life. Sure. But then...
I overheard a nearby diner stating that he understands subpar quality in vegan food in exchange for healthier eating. Just no. I find this restaurant to be quite damaging to any plant-based/vegan/vegetarian movement. There are plenty of restaurants around the country that create absolutely delicious vegan food. There is no need to sacrifice quality. Don't perpetuate everyone's uncle's view on "what vegans eat." I hope this restaurant can learn how to cook and present food that stands up as what they're advertising. Walk the freaking walk Fitz on 4th.

I do feel a little badly that this review is as harsh as it is. Perhaps a little snobby I admit. But I very much maintain these opinions. It's not that I had any expectations that weren't met because I didn't have any. More just "hopes" one might have going to eat food at a restaurant. Maybe I have unrealistic standards. Hard to say.. but they're mine nonetheless.

The pasta and the empanadas get a special shout out but please don’t miss the nachos or the eggplant either! Everything was well seasoned and fresh, we enjoyed it all.
