Fantastic Eritrean and Ethiopian food

The food is absolutely fantastic! Tasty Eritrean and Ethiopian food, served in traditional style. There is a great selection of vegetarian items that can be ordered in vegan as well. The host is always very friendly and I had a fantastic time everytime i visited. I really recommend this place.

Pros: Fantastic food, Friendly host, Great overall atmosphere

Lovely food

If you’ve never tried Eritrean food, this place is a must! Order the vegan platter and try all the different options. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of veganism. If you plan to visit on Friday or Saturday you might want to make a reservation!

Very tasty dishes, super friendly staff

Authentic laidback restaurant, pretty quiet on a Thursday night. We had the vegetarian platter for two and the staff was very helpful in informing us on allergens. Large portions and excellent taste. Owner was very friendly and accommodating, even when we struggled a bit with our Deutsch. Would very much recommend to anyone looking for a casual dining experience with a laidback atmosphere.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, Great taste, Laidback and casual atmosphere

Good treat 🌱

They offer a delicious mix of vegan platter - you will enjoy it. 4 stars only because the app allows 5 strs only for full vegetarian / vegan restaurants, which is stupid. Nice place 🖤

Pros: Mix of vegan options

👍🏾

Agree with other on most parts.
Good, (assuambly) authentic food. Affordable priced and very friendly and fun owner make this a good experience to eat.

The fact this is an ordinary local restaurant is more of a plus than minus for us.

I am happy 😋

While their vegan option is quite good and enough, one is stuck with with lentils and spinach in various spiced forms.
Too bad, they could easily make their meat options vegan as well with todays meat alterntives. I would love to taste the spices from the beef and lamb dishes....

Pros: Nice atmoshpere, Affordable, Down to earth, non-hipster place

Cons: No effort to further veganize selection, Customers smoke outside

Very good food in an unexpected place

I agree with the previous review: The presence of Ethiopia in a very traditional Swiss restaurant (and some of its customers) creates a weird atmosphere. Still the interior is not bad and the host is very friendly. The food is about the same as all the other Ethiopian restaurants but that's still pretty good - eating with your hands is an experience in itself. And vegans get a lot of different dishes.
Pro tip: Start eating the "plate" early enough or you won't be able to finish.
