Read moreThey are friendly people, but the place was not even busy and they got my order wrong and also forgot a side item, that I had to ask for during eating the rest of it.
I first arrived and there were just a couple of diners. Its not clear if you had to seat yourself or order at the counter. There was no one to be seen for about 5 minutes at the counter. Its a typical Vegan set up, with a minimal chalk board menu and half a dozen choices.
Eventually ordered and the food and cup of tea came out piping hot and fresh. I ordered the jerk tofu with kale and chose noodles as the optional addition. It came out with rice and beans and by that point she had gone away out back and i was hungry and just ate it. No big deal, since i dont mind rice and beans, but it was still the wrong order. I had also ordered a side dish, but that was nowhere to be seen. Thought maybe it was on its way, but it didnt come and so had to ask where it was. They had just forgotten.
Perhaps i would have understood if it was busy, but the place was almost empty and didnt have a rush on etc.
Overall the food was still very good, very fresh and a good vegan choice in the city.

I had Ackee and Tofu with rice and peas and my wife had Jerk Tofu with Spicy Kale. We had a side order of Plantain. All absolutely delicious and at a very reasonable cost (£10 for each main).
There were other choices on the menu that I wanted to try so will definitely be back. Brilliant!

Such amazing vibes. Marie and William welcomed me and sorted me out with delicious curry, spicy kale, dumplings with rice and peas... A total feast. Ten minutes before closing on a Tuesday night I'd say that's pretty amazing.

I visited Fi Real after my daughter discovered the restaurant was now open at weekends (the only time I could visit). What a wonderful place!
Read moreI enjoyed the jerk tofu with rice and peas, and crispy kale and salad; this food was delicious- the best tasting tofu I have ever eaten! Fi Real have produced their own brand of watermelon and pineapple-and-ginger drinks, too- they are so refreshing.
My fellow diners told me that this food is better than the food in the Caribbean. I can only urge you to go and try it for yourselves.
The restaurant itself is bright, clean and friendly; the service came with a genuine smile from the utterly charming owners. Reggae and lovers rock in the background; not intrusive.
I'm not the first to give Fi Real 5 stars, but it really, genuinely deserves it. Fi real.

Fantastic New Find - Edit
Tried Fi Real today for the first time after seeing them at a recent vegan festival. The restaurant is very clean and tidy and the owner Marie is so friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, we enjoyed every bite. We will certainly be back, and I will be spreading the word. Well worth a visit for delicious vegan food.

Read moreI ordered the dumplings and pepper strips with rice and salad which was the perfect mix of delicious and nutritious. Good size portion too, I was able to share a lot of the meal with my partner and still definitely had enough myself.
My partner ordered the vegetable pastry and plantains and loved both.
Nice chance to try all vegan carribean food - lots of new dishes we hadn't tried before!

This was definitely one of the best vegan restaurants I have been to. I had the jerk tofu, which was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are very generous - it comes with salad and rice, so you will definitely feel full once you've finished your meal. I also took away some blueberry and lemon cake, which was sublime, and can also recommend the watermelon juice drink.
Read moreNot only was the food superb and reasonably-priced, but the woman who owns the restaurant was also very friendly and helpful, which made my visit even more pleasant, and the decor and music combine to give the restaurant a really nice atmosphere.
So, in conclusion, I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough, and would recommend it to vegans, vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I will definitely be returning soon to try some of their other options!

I really enjoyed my meal here- I had jerk tofu which was lovely- creamy on the inside, tasty jerk spice crispiness on the outside. Served with delicious greens and rice and beans... yum! Also had an amazing fresh pineapple juice which was almost like a smoothie it was so thick :)
Read moreVeganism is often seen to be reserved for the white and privileged, and think places like this can help shake the stereotype; it's in a not-so-posh area of town and while we were there at least three Caribbean parties (groups of friends and families) came in to eat, in fact I believe we were the only non-Caribbean customers.
The owner is a lovely lady who is super friendly and makes you feel welcome :)

I have been to tons of vegan restaurants all over the world and this is seriously one of the best. Everything we ordered was incredible and the owners were so nice and helpful. The prices were really cheap, only £2 for big appetizers! I highly, highly recommend the akee and tofu, one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. Couldn't recommend more highly! The curry and the jerk tofu were also INCREDIBLE.

We visited Fi Real last night and I had to make a post right away. The food was out of this world (I got the Caribbean curry chunks; my husband got the ackee and tofu; and our friend got the jerk tofu) and the owners were so so sweet and friendly. If I lived in Bristol I'd come here every day! As it is, I'm definitely coming back and I'm bringing all of my vegan friends :)

The food was delicious and freshly made, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great :) Even the decor was beautiful. Definitely worth 5 stars, couldn't fault it at all. They even do a take out menu.

I went to Fi Real a few days ago on my Birthday and it was incredible. I was made a vegan birthday cake which was absolutely amazing. I could not have asked for anything better. It was incredible. I went into Fi Real later to have a meal, and the choices, even though they were limited on the night still offered a great selection as everything was vegan. I was treated great and everyone was so friendly. I cannot reccomend Fi Real enough to any one. Even my family are not vegetarian, they really enjoyed the meals and it was nice having something different. 10/10
