Best Indian for a long time, with tofu as paneer! - Edit
This river side Indian restaurant is a must try: they cleverly make all their paneer dishes with tofu, so between the vegetable, lentils or potato dishes and the tofu-version of paneer dishes, there is plenty to choose from.
Read moreThe owner speaks well english. This was the best indian food we had in a long time. We had eggplant "paneer" and a potato dosai.
Location is lovely too as it overlooks the Mekong and is a nice place for sunset.
Service was not very quick but it seems the rule rather than the exception in Laos;). Good value-price ratio.
Pros: Excellent food, Cleverly use tofu in place of paneer , Good location

Don’t want to rate lower - Edit
I got the Samosa and veg pakora and both were a little too oily for my taste. But everything else looked super good and it was a nice place on the river.

Best Indian restaurant in Luang Prabang! - Edit
We came here twice during our stay and the food was a hit. The menu has lots to choose from and is VERY vegetarian/vegan friendly. The “paneer” is actually tofu and the curry/gravies are all made with coconut milk. The owner is helpful and friendly, with a clear understanding of dietary restrictions. He was happy to chat through any questions and provide recommendations.
Read moreThe view from here during sunset is also amazing! Definitely worth a visit.
Pros: Tasty food, Friendly owner, Great view

Delicious but no paneer? - Edit
I had a paneer masala that was made with tofu rather than paneer. For me this was a better option than the original. The rice was ok and the mango lassi seems to have been made with chopped dried mango rather than fresh. The massala gravy was delicious, perfectly seasoned. They have several vegetarian options all priced at 40000, plain rice is only 10 000 and drinks were reasonably priced too. All in a beautiful riverside location too, I will go back and try their channa massala or Dahl fry another time as legumes don't feature much on menus in this part of the world.
