Good, but beware.

Good food, nice setting, nice people but patchy dietary/allergen procedures.

I recently visited Farm and Field for a late afternoon cake fix. I ordered a vegan cake. When the cake was delivered to our table it looked different so I asked the waitress and she confirmed it was vegan. I was still unsure so I went to the counter and they insisted it was vegan. It was only when I pointed out that it looked different to the vegan cake that they realised the mistake. There was a non-vegan version of the same cake and it was this that was served to me.

This wasn’t an issue for me, as I’m vegan by choice, don’t have any serious allergies, I’d spotted the error and was insistent on getting it right. If I’d eaten, as they’d insisted it was vegan, I would have been mortified but still breathing, if you have a serious allergy this place sadly cannot currently be trusted.

They have promised that they will update their procedures and train the staff accordingly. But have no evidence to confirm this has been done.
