Serves meat, vegan options available. Southeast Asian kitchen set in a large open hall. One of three tasting menus (7 courses) is all vegan except for the dessert topping (ask for different topping). Food inspired by Thai, Malysian, Vietnamese cuisine, sometimes with a Scandinavian twist. There's a bar at the entrance as well. Cashless. Please note that many businesses in Sweden are cashless. Open Mon-Sat 17:00-22:00. Closed Sun.

Great set menu - Edit
Farang had a vegetarian menu which they easily made vegan. I must say that it was probably the best set-menu I’ve had as a vegan in Stockholm.

⭐️WOW⭐️
Read moreWe got the vegetarian tasting menu made vegan and were amazed. I wasn’t a fan of the the first course round, but everything else was 100% delicious. The satay and the yellow curry were my favorites. Great ambiance too.

Vegan Asian tasting menu - Edit
We went here with a meat eater and had the vegan tasting menu.
Read moreThe restaurant seems to do everything to scale. The restaurant is huge, the wine list is extremely long (who knew there were that many types of Riesling?). We opted for the set menu so that we didn’t need to choose.
Beware the tasting menu is vast and has a LOT of food. We left feeling very full and didn’t finish the dessert courses.
The food is very good, Asian style. The waiter was able to recommend a good wine for the food but we didn’t enjoy it enough for a second bottle. Relatively well priced for Sweden (SEK 790 each when we visited).

Great atmosphere but limeted vegan options - Edit
Nice atmosphere, food is meant to be shared. Portion sizes are quite big but also a bit more pricey. Staff was super friendly. Vegan or vegetarian options are limeted but still enough e.g. fried soft tofu and tempeh in some dishes.

Nice tasting menu - Edit
The tasting menu is nice with lots of flavours. We spent well over 2,5 hours here just eating and chatting. Also friendly staff and interesting drinks. However it looks like they have almost the same dishes on the vegan menu as in 2016, they only seem to make some minor changes to it. Would like to see a completely new vegan menu!

Amazing for Stockholm - Edit
This place is exceptional. Asian themed with a set menu (you can also try al a carte, but the set menu looks great value and you get to try a number of dishes) that can be vegan. The drinks are quite expensive but the set menu seemed reasonable.
Read moreSome amazing flavours and where they’ve innovated away from traditional Asian dishes, it’s well worth experiencing these.
The Singaporean Roti is very hard to make and they didn’t pull it off, far to crisply fried and lacked the necessary softness - more poppadum than croissant.
The Rendang Curry is exquisite.
I will be coming back for sure.

One of the best - Edit
I tried their 7 course dinner. It was an experience that I still dream about sometimes! The food was incredible! They have a vegetarian menu where most dishes can be made vegan. It’s quite pricy but really worth it!

Amazing tasting menu - Edit
The vegan tasting menu is absolutely delicious, although it’s A LOT of food. I could barely finish my two last courses, which makes me concerned about waste. Would definitely go back, (but maybe have a very light lunch that day).

Delicious but noisy - Edit
I have to take away a star because of the extremely loud noise at this place. It was difficult to talk with the friends at my table.

Nice food, but too expensive - Edit
The vegan tasting menu takes us, according to Farang, for a “culinary journey to Southeast Asia”. It certainly does offer some very nice dishes, with many familiar elements and an occasional surprise. However, the food does not push the limits or introduce enough surprises for it to be worth the money. Maybe our expectations were high, given the standing of the restaurant, but I think they should be with the relatively high price of the meal.
Read moreThat said, the staff were knowledgeable , discreet and overall very professional. The restaurant itself was rather large (25 metres long) and dark, with effective lighting and décor. As LeoM states in the last review, it is a tad on the noisy side: not surprising since almost all of the 200 seats were taken when we were there on an early Wednesday evening.
If your budget is not a problem, Farang is definitely worth a visit; if you are a tourist in Stockholm, with limited money and/or time, I would recommend other restaurants and eateries before Farang.
Pros: Vegan menu, Professional staff, Extensive wine list
Cons: Too expensive, Dishes do not push the boundaries enough, Noisy

Excellent food, fashionable atmosphere - Edit
It's expensive but the vegan menu here is excellent.
Read moreUnfortunately this is one of those resturants designed to be extra noisy. It's supposed to make the restaurant cosy and give it a familary touch? If you like noisy settings Farang is a very good choice though.

very tasty! - Edit
I tried the vegan tasting menu and it was so tasty and filling! Really fresh and offered new flavors. The only thing is that it is expensive and the tasting menu only included one desert which was not that good. Besides that it was super nice! Really cool restaurant and service minded staff
