My new favourite take out - Edit
I am not a fan of take out food or delivery, because I like the atmosphere when eating out and I don't want my food to be cold :D. This time we didn't want to spend time going out, so we decided to order from Falafel Nitra for the first time ever. I had falafels with hummus and pita (the tomatoes you see in the picture were from my fridge :D) and I was satisfied with the taste, quality and price as well (hummus w/ pita only 2,5 + 5 falafels just for 2 and I still have leftover hummus). I think the taste was more similar to the falafels and hummus I ocassionally make from scratch at home, not to the ones from the common grocery shops or ready mixes. I think Falafel Nitra will be my future choice when I'll need to order my food again.

Exquisite food - Edit
The food is great, Emil (the owner) is a cool, always smiling guy who helps you decide when you have no idea what to get. No bad food on the menu, except for weak lunch special one time, otherwise perfect.

Very Good Falafels - Edit
The owners speaks good English and he was very helpful in deciding what to choose from the menu, he is making everything himself (hummus, tahini, vegan mayo etc).
Read moreMost of the food is vegan, except some dishes with cheese.
Falafels were super tasty. The vegan burger was good as well but highly recommend the falafel wrap and the falafel salad.
We also tried the tahini/bean soup but we prefer dishes with a bit less oil.
Pros: cheap, tasty, local homemade
Cons: they ran out of hummus :P

Top-Class Falafel in a Sea of Slovak Food - Edit
Most Slovaks have never heard of veganism, and visiting my family there this summer, I was usually hungry, surviving mostly on vegan energy bars from DM and my family's nutritionally deficient interpretations of vegan eating. Falafel Nitra was the only good meal I had my whole stay. It's great food, and not just for Slovakia. The owner Emil is the sweetest guy, and speaks excellent English. He’s mixed Syrian and Slovak, and my personal hero for bringing perfectly-made falafel to a country where immigrants are few but xenophobia is commonplace. Although the menu is in Slovak, he listed all the vegan possibilities to me, and is well-versed in veganism. He explained that since he's opened, Falafel Nitra has become a popular destination for local vegetarians and vegans, who have very few places to eat in town. Emil insisted I try a sample of his excellent house-made hummus, and whoever makes the stuff they sell in Slovak grocery stores could learn a lot from him. This man knows all of his customers, and he introduced me to some Slovak vegans who came for lunch. We all had a great conversation: chef, tourist, and regulars, connecting in a way that isn’t possible in the States. If you’re in Nitra, you should definitely stop by, get a hot pita, and leave Emil a good tip.
