J'ai tellement de mauvaise choses à dire que j'ose même pas.

J'ai commencé à y aller début 2000.... Comme 2002 ou 2003...

Toujours la même attitude.

Simple but effective - Edit

There is no menu. The guy serves only 1 thing: falafel, and I know why! Because they're the best!

oh, I knew ethnic foods are a world of suprises for the vegan palate, as well as a wonderful opportunity for a vegan to open their culinary horizons. but in no way was i prepared for this... i had read some underground reviews online and decided to give it a try; we were on our way to see our friends in laval and stopped there first.

well, it looks like a very small old-school canteen, like those very low budget family run businesses. nevertheless, it looks very clean. and what they lack in style, they make up for in taste. indeed this tiny diner serves only one item: falafels. and indeed they take it to yummy heaven.

i embarrassed myself double-checking the ingredinets with the, just to make sure it was vegan--- oh, it is a vegan staple in arab cuisine. but any vegan knows how important it is to double- and triple-check to avoid accidents. anyway, the thing is out-of-this-world good. i enjoyed one while the gentleman (the co-owner and chef) prepared the other dozen and half to take-away. there was a misunderstanding in the beginning, about the format, as for take-away he can sepârately pack the ingredients, but not all of them. so he had to start over, so do mention falafel sandwiches if that is what you want, ie the redy-made thing. the texture and combination is amazing--the traditionla thing, i will not go into details. anyway, i ate like 10 in two days, at all meals and they kept liek magic, for 10 hours in the car ( a colder day, yes...) then in the fridge overnight and were still very very good next day.
i will surely make a detour every time i am in laval, it is worth it. now i havent tried any anywhere else, but those who did swear these are the best they ever tasted, so it is worth the trip.
have i mentionned they are dirt-cheap too??? (under $3 each) you do not pay for a fancy dinner decor (!!), just for the food.
so a win-win-win choice. i cant wait to taste them again. maybe do some at home--- but with the an oven-baked rather than deep fried falafel garbanzo bean meatless meatball.(you get the idea)
