My favorite place in Penang

I'm a vegan travelblogger and I love to sample as much local food as possible when I visit a place... I just kept coming back to this place! It's so good!

Tried a bunch of typical dishes all veganized, like Bak Kut Teh, which was a blast. The buffet is so big and with so much variety I became quite greedy and kept on trying a bit of everything. Lots of tofu and soy dishes, all done just very well. I even ordered a birthday cake here!

It will cost you next to nothing. 4 to 10 ringgit is the max you'll spend.

Fresh vegan buffet!

Tons of variety and lots of seating. There are lots of vegetable dishes that are not too oily, which was a nice change! The woman at the front was really nice, and told me my packed plate of food (mostly mock meat, tofu and veggies) was only 11 MYR. My friend who had a quarter of the amount of food I had paid 9 for her plate, which we thought was strange. I know she should of charged me more, but if you are nice and give her a smile then she’ll give you a good price on your plate. A smile can take you a long way! Give this place a try if you want a buffet similar to EE Beng.

Pros: Great buffet, Great service , Fairly fresh food

Cons: In a quiet area

Variety at a price?

Came here and filled my buffet plate to my usual volume for this type of restaurant, and it came out to RM12. A little pricey I thought, but this was my first time eating at one of these spots in George Town so I figured prices just ran higher.
My girlfriend later went and told me she was charged 7 for, by photo comparison, what was nearly the same amount of food. I read some reviews of racial pricing at other establishments of this type in this city and I hate to say this may be happening here as well (I'm Caucasian, she's Asian). Too bad; there was a lot of interesting stuff and fresh trays were being brought out after lunch too.
I could be totally wrong and maybe the things I took which she didn't somehow warranted the difference of over 50% increase in price, but it seems pretty unlikely. Only not giving it one star for this reason and the fact that I enjoyed the food, but I can't recommend to obvious outsiders.

Pros: tons of variety, unique items, tasty

Cons: likely racial pricing

Hi, there is a chance a different lady was charging you and your gf. Some items are also more expensive than others. I haven't seen a big price difference when I (whitie) go their myself or my husband (local) buys for me.
On the other hand I usually take rice + 1 fake meat + 1 veg + 1 random thing, and the price can vary from RM6 to RM8. So it seems like similar items are priced differenly.

Lovely.

This place is vegan - not only vegetarian.
I don't eat mock meat, yet there was a wide range of greens and curries. Could be a bit warmer, but the tastes were delicious. All fresh and extremely cheap. Check the box with the steamed vegetable buns!

Pros: Wide variety., Great taste., Friendly staff.

Cons: The food was not very warm.

Delicious and cheap

Lovely buffet style - listed as all veggie but all seems vegan too. Lots of noodles, tofu, curry, veg etc and also juices and home made tofu! Very cheap - it isn't a buffet as such, the lady works out how much it costs depending on what you chose - not sure how!

Pros: Delicious, Healthy, Cheap

Tasty buffet, menu items okay

I have to start by saying: this place is vegan! Yeeey! okay, that said, my friend and I dined there the other day. I have to say that we got to the restaurant when they were about to close, so we have limited buffet choices. Nevertheless, they were very accommodating. I had a steamed bun and sticky rice in lotus leaf. They were both pretty good. The selection of steamed buns was overwhelming and I am a sucker for dim sum-style foods.

The issue was my friend's food. She ordered tom yam soup with noodles and instead she got fried noodles that she did not like because they tasted like noodles with tomato sauce.

They called a taxi for us and invited us to wait inside even though they were closed. Nice people!

The restaurant is around the corner from the reclining buddha temple.

Pros: Vegan, Nice staff, Huge selection

Cons: Not so close to George Town center

Free dinning

Due to traffic jam i was reached there about 8.20pm for my dinning last night. The workers were tided up the shop but still were some patrons had their meal inside.
As usual,i approved to the food counter, there were some dishes left and were quit fresh so i intended to have some rice to go with but it was sold out.I had no choice to ask for the a la carter meal ,again it was no available.
At the moment,a man (later i learnt is the boss) offered me to have the leave-over dishes without rice to go if i did not mind,he said that i could had as much as i wanted and it was free.He was just generous and i thanked for him.
After the meal,I thought than the food was free because it was a waste if through away and took it as a granted but the drink must be charged so to gain a litter profit back and i went to the cashier to pay but the cashier replied me the boss(a man who offered me the food)said it was free and i didn't have to pay for the drink as well. This was astonished me again and what i could expressed was thanked again.what a kind people indeed..

Pros: tasty

Cons: limited parking lot , packed, msg

Multiple choices

Evergreen V.H. is one of my favourite restaurant when i am at Pulau Tikus area. The food served in variety type and kept warm at all times. I like their Curry mee very much, yummy! But need more improvement in Hokkien Mee and Laksa. In general, it is a nice restaurant to go as it is located near Gurney area. Veggie lovers should render your support to this veggie restaurant.

Pros: Healthy cuisine, Variety choice

Cons: Small place, Flies over food
