Very delicious and friendly staff - Edit
Would have given 5 stars is possible but they can only be given for fully vegetarian/vegan restaurants.
Read moreVery delicious food. The staff was also really friendly. I chose 2 out of 4 on the spice scale and it was already quite spicy.

Good vegetarian options for 1200 yen -- not life-changing - Edit
It's four stars because you can't find much food this good at their price point -- but I'll flag that I'd give it only three stars if it was 50% more expensive. Had the vegetarian meal -- it was well priced and good. The dips and Roti are tasty and you get a drink like hot or cold coffee all in that price! The place is clean and the servers are lovely and kind -- and they speak English! I'd recommend to fellow vegetarians and vegans! But let's be clear it's a wholesome meal and nothing world-changing.

Friendly place but not many vegan options. - Edit
We got take out here. There weren't many vegan options. They indicated that we could eat the Samosas, one dal and one type of curry. The Samosas were very good, the dal and curry was fine.

Awesome naan bread - Edit
It's just next to bus and train station. There's a vast choice of vegetarian meals, stuff speaks English. They offer different kinds of naan bread: cheese, chocolate, garlic etc. The cheapest option is lunch set

Understands Vegan and Vegetarian requirements - Edit
The gentleman serving us was lovely. He knew which dishes would be compatible with a vegan diet when asked. We ordered the 'vegetarian' set menu and they were happy to ammend this to be made vegan. Delicious curry, fusion of Nepalese and South Asian curry. Would recommend

Great flavour on a budget - Edit
The cacophony of spice aromas that hit you when you open the door are just the prelude to the taste delights you experience when eating your meal. We had Dahl curry, spinach and potato curry (how do they get the spinach so smooth and creamy?) and roasted garlic rice (outstanding taste). Service was friendly and the waitress checked that our vegan order was understood by the chef. Our meals were delicious. Highly recommend.

Many VEGAN options. 5 star!! - Edit
Had a suspicion this place would be fantastic as our eyes were watering from the spice in the air as we awaited our meals. We were not disappointed! As with most Indian/Nepalese places there’s usually an abundance of items we can eat straight off the menu, plus the boss man has a good grasp of English so understood the term “vegan”. We got a Dahl and an Okura and Potato curry with garlic rice and cumin rice. Words don’t do it justice, I’m a curry smashing machine and am always hunting them out all over the planet.....and these dishes were very unique and just plain delicious, the garlic rice is good enough to have as a stand alone dish I believe. Great friendly atmosphere from the staff and very very affordable. Clean and very fresh. Across the road from the station. Do yourself a favour and get into this place if ever you find yourself in lovely Matsumoto.

Nice restaurant, tasty meals, the spices are mild. The waiter spoke English and pointed in the menu everything that had no milk, butter or eggs. Unfortunately, even the plain nan bread has egg and milk in the batter, so I had the dinner set with Japanese white rice.

Nice Nepali meal - Edit
After more than a week in Japan eating small and expensive-ish meals, or cold Onigiri's: it was nice to get a hot, large meal for quite cheap. The Nan bread is HUGE! It's a bit sweeter than I am used to, and not oiled and salted. The rice is Japanese rice (there is a near 800% tariffs on foreign rice into Japan, so no surprise that they opt for the short-grain domestic varieties). Service is fast, set dishes are LARGE. I could barely finish the 2 curries, giant naan, soup, samosa, rice, salad and Nepali tea. We went again and got a lunch set with was one curry, giant nan, salad, and soup added in on the house, with Nepali tea. Food is not vegan, there are dairy products used, though if you are a flexi vegan, I'd recommend trying. The butter, or dairies they use, make the food taste very rich, and just pleasant. I paid 1260 for the large diner with two curries, and 760 for the lunch. The tea is perhaps the best indian tea I got. I'd recommend it. It's just so nice to get a nice big meal after a long time, and worth every penny. They speak english as well, and it's cool to experience a the Japanese manners from Nepalis.

Nice vegetarian curries - Edit
I have to admit I don't really know how Nepalese cuisine differs from Indian, but I'd say this is great place for a curry, with several options for vegetarians. I chose a set menu that included a really good samosa, two curries, soup, rice, salad, huge Naan. I don't remember the price but it was definitely not expensive.
