Soups are still delicious but our sandwich today was dismal, untoasted baguette , hardly any hummus and a slice of zucchini/ not quite a sandwich - actually disgusting and couldn’t finish it.
Former review : We love swinging into Esy's for a Soup and a Sandwich- we highly recommend their soups of the day, they are almost always vegan, guaranteed dairy free- just have to ensure no chicken stock was used, and the menu board usually designates. We also love their veggie and hummus sandwich on a nice crusty bread for dunking into the soup. They generally have a plethora of side dishes to offer, however usually when we ask which are vegan- there are not usually many, if ANY. They do have a small selection of vegan desserts available too, however, we have not tried any of them yet. FOUR Stars to them for their SOUP options alone- YUMMM
I ordered the portabello sandwich with roasted red peppers in place of cheese and it came with vegan pesto and grilled onions. The pesto had absolutely no flavor, it was like eating an onion sandwich as there were very few pieces of sliced mushroom and the peppers had clearly been sitting for a while and didn’t seem fresh or flavorful. The baguette was like day old bread and very chewy. The iced coffee I had was mediocre. I tried two vegan baked items. I purchased a slice of the cinnamon loaf and a peanut butter cookie and neither were fresh. The flavors were ok though. I will not be trying it again.
A descent place to stop in for lunch, the owner is knowledgeable about what is vegan and they always have vegan soups as well as plenty of vegan baked goods and hot dishes.
