Expensive but excellent

Estia is one of the best restaurants in Mashpee/Famlouth (they have two locations) and they mercifully have several vegan options and keep expanding the menu. The Mashpee and Falmouth menus are a little different; while I prefer the Falmouth location, the big draw in Mashpee is that they have the falafel gyro on the permanent menu while Falmouth only offers it as a special. It’s vegan if you swap the tzatziki for hummus (no extra charge) and it’s really filling. Many of their sides and apps are also vegan, and there are a few other vegan menu items (the veggie skewers are also excellent, though lighter than the gyro). There are some truly excellent starters as well, like the grilled artichokes and fried zucchini.

Vegan items are marked but the menu is a little deceiving because many items become vegan with a small change or substitution. The fried zucchini is, for example, made without eggs (!!!!) but comes with a yogurt sauce; swap it for hummus and you’re good. Many salads are vegan without cheese and you can add falafel or grilled veggies to them.

The staff is knowledgeable about veganism. It was a server in Falmouth who suggested the zucchini as a vegan option, for example, and others have confirmed it is vegan friendly. Everyone is also super nice.

The Mashpee location is a little more expensive than Falmouth and the prices are sort of bonkers for those who aren’t eating vegan, but I’m willing to watch my Omni family and friends deal with the upcharge so I can get a good meal, which isn’t always easy on the Cape. Just keep that in mind if you dine with someone who might suggest splitting the bill evenly!
