Lovely food and vibe!

Very friendly vibes and comfortable seating, and delicious food of course. My favourites so far are the cassava chips, Essential burger and the coffee and walnut cake, which is to die for. They also do great coffee with all the best plant milks: bonsoy, oatly barista and almond breeze. I will definitely come here again!

Pros: Lovely atmosphere, Delicious food

Lovely!

Great homey atmosphere, delicios cheese balls and burgers. We also enjoyed the cinnamon roll and coffee cake. They sell cookbooks and they're one of the best ones I've had!!

Delicious food

I have always looked out for Vanessa's stall at events so am really excited that she has her own permanent cafe. Located just round the corner from Shoreditch High Street it is easy to get to but tucked away off the main street so away from the hustle and bustle.
The space is lovely, bright and airy. Vanessa and the other staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming.
There are three different burgers on the menu together with one or more daily specials (chickpea pancakes or quiche when we visited), a cheese platter, several sides plus cheesecake or cake for dessert.  We tried various dishes and enjoyed them all. The cheese platter is particularly good - a generous portion of homemade nut cheeses, tofu ricotta, bread, grapes. You can also buy the nut cheese to take home.
Vanessa' s cakes are always delicous. This time we sampled the coffee and walnut and the passion fruit cheesecake which is a personal favourite. Hot drinks are served with the choice of oat, soya or almond milk.
Looking forward to a return visit to sample some of the Brazilian specials and enjoy more cake!

Pros: Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, Delicious cakes, handmade nut cheeses, Independent all vegan cafe

Fancy Brazilian inspired vegan food

Essential vegan has a relatively short menu with a daily special. A daily special suits me fine, something new every time! Tonight we had a plantain and rice dish in a cheesy coconut sauce. It was really very good. We also shared a jack fruit burger which was good if a little small. The cassava chips were as good as any I have had and that includes the ones I had in Mexico.
My foodie comrade had a cheesecake dessert - there are no sugar free options :( - it was very good and very sweet according to her.
The staff and owner were all very friendly and attentive. The cafe is simply decorated with one wall given over to a local artist every month.
The prices are relatively expensive but I expect that reflects the Shoreditch address and the quality ingredients. The "cheesy balls" were a case in point, six small gobstopper sized offerings seemed rather over priced at £4.50 but when you tried them you could see why they might cost so much and they -almost- tasted good enough to buy again next time!
I will be back to try another special soon.

Pros: Interesting Brazilian inspired menu., Superior vegan food, Nice friendly atmosphere

Cons: Not a cheap meal out!, No sugar free desserts, No roobois tea options.
