Need for improvement - Edit
I went in for a first time visit and had the “chicken” nuggets and cheese ball and potato combo. It wasn’t that it was just really dry (for all the dishes) but the taste of the nuggets was unforgiving. I barely ate half of my meal, it was not good at all.
Read moreTo top it all I was obliged to leave a service tip - the service was actually great but I felt pressurised even before I offered. And that left a bad taste in my mouth too.
Pros: Everything nicely set out, Nice warm environment with good music.
Cons: Bad tasting food. , The coffee had a charred taste.

It was such a nice place, lovely staff and delicious food! 100% recommend. Just wish they had typical Brazilian recipes like feijoada and pavê. But what I did have there was phenomenal!

Lovely cafe with delicious food! Tried cheese balls, chicken nuggets with cassava chips - everything was delicious and fresh. The highlight was the fluffiest yummiest chocolate cake for desert

Really lovely place. Had a tofu salad and some of the smaller bites - the Brazilian Coxinhas and Rissoles, plus some cheesy balls. All of them were delicious. Lovely friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.

Got the “chicken” burger and it was one of the only vegan chicken substitutes that I’ve had that actually tasted like chicken! Will definitely satisfy that craving if you’ve got it!

My new favourite - Edit
Happenstanced this place on the street I regularly pass, thought I’d visit, finally visited, their menu is plethora including a few gluten free options, an open kitchen, lovely staff, warm ambience, constantly thought after by diners, had to come back in a few days’ time to buy their in-house made nut cheese, and I keep going back cos I can’t find a reason not to. Including their reasonable pricing.

Delicious original food! - Edit
My boyfriend and I had the Brazilian jackfruit balls/sweetcorn starter mix (can't remember the name!), I had the cheesy quiche for my main and my boyfriend had the 'chicken' burger. The potatoes with the quiche were absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed all of our food. The vibe inside was fantastic too! We also tried the coffee and walnut cake which was insane. Unfortunately they didn't have the cheese platter (which I'd specifically gone there for) but it just means I'll have to make a return trip!

Such a lovely cafe, amazing burgers, quiche and many vegan brazilian specialities. The cakes are amazing - the bounty cake is my best friend in life and the others are a very close second. Vanessa who owns the cafe is lovely too. Very reasonably priced and excellent service. Go visit - it's great!!

Gets better each time I go! - Edit
I’ve enjoyed this before, and last weekend everything was made to perfection. We ate far too much: cheese balls, the delightfully spicy and sweet Essential Jack burger on a brioche bun, and the cassava chips were my favourite. The blueberry cinnamon bun was devine and the walnut coffee cake was not overly sweet, have fully flavour and a lovely texture. The service was impeccable and they are so passionate about their food and the community.

I shall just join in the praise for Essential Vegan. For lunch I had the Essential Gourmet Burger, which was delicious., and some wonderful Cassava Chips The food is freshly cooked so service takes a while, but it is well worth the wait.

A truly satiating meal - Edit
Essential Vegan has amazing reviews on Happy Cow and other sites, so when we visited we were curious if it would live up to the high expectations. And it did! I had a special, the 'cheesy' quiche. This quiche was indeed cheesy and satisfying with a lovely moreish crust, which to me indicated a good attention to detail (sadly not always the case at veg*n places but makes a huge difference for the enjoyment of a meal). I also got a cinnamon roll which was baked whilst I was there and it more than satisfied the cinnamon roll cravings I had been experiencing.
Read moreThe meal took a little longer than expected, it was my first visit so not sure if it's normal but the food is definitely tasty and fresh so it's definitely worth it.
At Vegfest and similar events Essential Vegan used to make amazing vegan eclairs, I wish I could get these here!

A friendly cafe that's always worth a visit! - Edit
We went here on their opening day, and immediately I made this place a semi-regular spot for a good bit of eating.
Read moreOn our most recent visit we had the soup of the day (which I've forgotten the flavour of, but, hey, I'm no professional food critic!) and the new "chicken" burger along with a - mandatory in my opinion - side of "cheese" balls. Oh they're good, everything was absolutely perfect as always and the staff are very friendly too.
Our tummies were so full that, regrettably, there was no room for cake, but the track record on those cakes is pretty darn good as well... Especially the "cheese"cakes.
A great little cafe, a very dependable menu and the specials are always worth a punt! I always eagerly look forward to the next time I can shoehorn in a cheeky visit here for a good lunch.
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Lovely, relaxed atmosphere (with good art too)
Cons: Door's a little cumbersome (I've got a pushchair)

Really delicious food, centered around the vegan burgers, made from home made seitan. Also other dishes with Brazilian touch. The smoked nut cheese they sell is great too.

Recently opened and a nice change from other standard vegan faire, with some authentic Brazilian dishes and friendly service. I really enjoyed the baked cheese balls, very comforting on a cold day. The jackfruit burger was also really tasty and quite light, didn't feel guilty after eating this meal. :)
